Junoon has entitled their new album “Infinity”. The album is almost complete, and is undergoing mastering at Digital Fedility Studios Pakistan, and Mekaal Hassan has been working with Ali and Salman this time around on the album, on the bass lines and mastering. John Alec is the producer for the album once again. The album is rock oriented, and once again the Junoon management has asked fans to come up with creative design covers for the album.
Junoon has also signed an agreement with MTV America to air all of Junoon’s Hit songs videos. The videos will be aired on MTV Hits my mid of April. This is the first time ever that a South Asian band has been approached by MTV and given such a big honor of broadcasting there videos on MTV Hits.
Re: Junoon' new Album named | Videos to air on MTV America
ePs Irtiqa, Mizraab's MHM etc have synthesized drums despite the fact that they were recorded in DFS. Overdrive and Junoon incorporated live drums long before that. There are still alot of sound issues in DFS when recording tablaz/drums, which explains why they are left out. I know they arent happy with the way the live drums sound in DFS.
Re: Junoon' new Album named | Videos to air on MTV America
There are issues I agree but still better than any other studio in Pakistan. Look how Atif Aslam has ruined his album, also some Karavan song from their second album lack quality despite of drummer beating the skin to death.
A little bit improved recording example can be 'jaise chaho jiyo' of Najam. Mekaal spent quiet a long time for arrangements for that song.
Khair for Salman it can't be as satisfied as NY studios.
Re: Junoon' new Album named | Videos to air on MTV America
Kun sa NY Studios? Salman has always vouched for DFS, even though Ali has sometimes said he feels DFS isnt upto par. Also due to budget constrants, the albums are always recorded in Pakistan, most of the crew is there anyways. Even when they made Parvaaz at DFS, the producer John Alec moved to Pakistan for a while and the load shedding gave him a hard time during the recording. The album is already done, what remains to be seen is who is incharge of the final mastering/mixing, my guess would be mekaal and Salman, but it would be great if they let John do it.
