iam getting married in June 2010 inshAllah and have only 4 months to lose weight.
if possible please provide a non-veg diet which will help me reduce the weight.
i dont eat daal, vegetables, and fruits! i know they’re healthy and all but i just abt manage to have lettuce, cucumbers.. and apples banana;s but rarely.
i work from 8-5.. reach home by 6.. its really difficult for me to diet or keep up with a healthy routine..
i paid the gym as well but never went.. FEB is the last month that i have paid for. so i really need to go atleast for FEB..
i have a treadmill at home which i use for half n hr once or twice a week!! only!!
please help.. really depressed!
btw iam 5’0 only.. and weigh 56/57 kilos! for a toned figure, i need to be atleast 45 kgs for my wedding … isnt it?
ummm i think you should motivate yourself to change all your old habits...and get active!
No more 1/2 hr treadmill once of twice a week...there is no secret to loosing weight..you need to put the effort into it..and that involves eating a well balenced diet (maybe smaller protions) but more spread out throughout the day...and devolping a routine for your physical activity!! And drinks lots of water to stay hydrated..and avoid eating after 7pm! But the key is to get into a routine..and give up drinking pop!!!
hun im also a bride this year so far i have lost quite a bit of weight but stil have lots to go........i would suggest really cut down on ur carbs as in bread roti chawal and trust me that would make a huge difference! well it did for me :)
thanks guys, yeah ure right, just by avoiding roti chawal im sure its gonna make a difference. whats ur target weight u wanna achieve mizz??
plz dont avoid roti altogether, as u have mentioned u dont like daals n fruits ...there has to be sum good source of carb in ur diet . u need carbs good ones, i take my carbs frm daals mainly, i dont eat roti or rice but do take a lotta daals washed or even better if they hav the skins intact.daal is an excellent source of good carb, plus it has proteins. try havin daals, it works for me.
plz dont go cold turkey on carbs, u wil quit soon or else even if u get to ur target weight u wil end up lookin many years older ur skin wud wrinkle and the most imp.... ur hair wud fall out(happened to me) :(
ya whole wheat has fiber plus not refined so GI is low.
but has to be in moderation.
actually do it one step at a time ,
switch to healthier options develop taste for those things uve neva fancied
once ur ok with those low carb low GI low fat stuff than try to eat a lil less than u ate the day before, gradually lower ur calorie intake , plus keep reducing portion size
food is like an adiction dont just go cold turkey,do it gradually to avoid deprivation n hunger pangs etc
n keep workin out 4-5 times a week
inshallah u wil get there in no time.
rafia i am 5/4 and at the moment i weigh 63kg i want to be down to 55kg see how i look in that weight! if i need to lose more i will lose but im going pakistan about 5 weeks before the wedding i should lose one or 2 kg in the heat and with all the running arounfd so am targeting for 55kg!!!!
i started my dieting end of november and my start weight was..........72 kg!!!! yes i know i was really fat!!!!
im walking an hour a day religously for 4 days a week!!!! and i have cut down on carbs not completly but im tryin! i have had out alot of days where i just eat normal roti, takeways but when im on the diets i eat grilled chicken kebabs with salad lots of water!!!!!
Rafia, you have to start some sort of work out either in the mornings or when you get back from work in evenings. I know it sounds hard but you can certainly develope the habit once you decide it's something you want to do.
Instead of taking out roti/chawal alltogether, just reduce the portions. If you completely stop eating roti you'll just end up getting hungry again and that's when you'll indulge on junk foods which is something you really want to avoid at this point.
Think of the big day and how fabulous you want to look, all you have to do is put in a little bit of effort. I always tell people this and will tell you as well that once you start seeing some results you'll get motivated all over again and would want to continue with the workouts and healthy eating habits.
i know... u guys are so right :(... but this thing is reallly depressing me.. FiL to be is in town.. no time for exercise and on top of that.. my grand parents r coming on 25th feb... so i wont be able tp use the treadmill at home!! ..
i tried dieting a few days.. and it helped... but some how i come back to the old routine and the weight just doesnt move.. and idont expect it to either.. since eating habits and no exercise.. there is no change in lifestyle..
what kind of food do i bring to work? considering i dont like fruits and vegss...
evening food is not much of a problem.. i eat before 8 usually and in right proportion.. the main problem is at work.. when my sleep is an issue and unable to diet..
y can't you use the treamill if your grandparents are home??? truly motivated people always stick with their routine or find a way to do their exercise somehow
Come on girl get some veggies in your diet! There is no way to lose weight if all you eat are simple sugars and meat and you don't want to starve. Veggies fill you up and are low in calories and high in fiber. Have you tried simple salted steamed broccoli? it's very mild tasting and totally filling. Or sauteed asparagus? Stir-fried green beans and garlic? Eating a diet high in fruits and veggies will keep you healthy when you're older. Anyway, here's a weight loss plan for you:
Diet:
Switch all your grains to whole wheat, switch all beverages to water or sugarless tea, reduce your portions (as mentioned before).
Always eat breakfast with lots of protein- like scrambled eggs in very little olive oil on whole wheat toast. or fat free PLAIN (not vanilla) yogurt with fruit and granola.
Lunch- first eat an apple/tangerine/banana and/or some salad. then you can have something w/ grilled chicken breast or baked fish (salad, sandwich, over brown rice)
Start Dinner with something healthy like a small bowl of lettuce w/ celery, cucumbers and corn and a light drizzle of olive oil or vinaigrette (No ranch or thousand island!) or a little bit of very light chicken and veggie soup (not thick and starchy). That way you'll be full before you get to the main course. and you can eat after 7, just avoid eating 3 hrs before you sleep.
SNACKS- reduce sugary/salty/fatty snacks and replace them with fruit and veggies.
Exercise: 4days/week on treadmill. I don't know how fast you run, so I would try to get in at least 2.5 miles/day. I don;t know if you mean that its difficult w/ your grandparents. does it just keep you busy or do they not want you to exercise (I have a hard time exercising at home b/c my mom wants me to look "hell-thee")
Keep track of your weight loss. You should aim for 1 kg per week. MEASURE YOURSELF to make sure you're on track. It's a slow process and theres no shortcut. 6pm is not too late, I go to the gym at 9 or even 10 pm sometimes. Exercise before you eat dinner. Get a buddy that will help you stay on schedule. best of luck.
actually my treadmill is fixed in lounge and when grand parents are around ... firstly the routine is messed upp... less sleep and office and after office we're out to the mall or some1 has invited us for dinner,.. so there is no time for treadmill .. but any how.. i will definitely try my best to stick to the routine u have mentioned above...\
