For those who are fortunate enough to listen to Friday sermon as part of Friday’s obligatory prayers, please take a moment and share your thoughts on the sermon you listened today.
I am heading out in about 1 hour, but today due to distance issues I am planning to attend jumma ki namaz at a very small local masjid close by. Not sure who will show up as a visiting faculity.
our khateeb told us about he went to a restaurant and found out that the shawarma price had increased by 33.3%, for which he argued with the manager and told him that neither the meat nor the flour price has increased so why is he increasing the price fo shwarma....
he requested all people to boycott restaurants/stores that r unneccesarily increasing prices....
and said that if consumers do not take firm actions against this inflation, things will soon be out of control....
Today the topic was the start of month of Saffar (its starting in a day or so). I joined a bit late so missed the first part, but apparently there are a lot of ahadeeth that mention this month. Actually it got me kinda curious and I will research this a bit further.
I would have liked to share here if I was able to comprehend what that Turk Imam was saying in Turkish. InshAllah next time I would get along with me a person who knows Turkish better than me.
hmmm…
it was about natural disasters, their wrong interpretation among muslim scholars and what exactly they mean in the light of the ahaadeeth.
main points:
natural disasters do not mean that those who are affected are sinner for sinner and pious are both victims of it.
they happen when the sins are prevalent in the land.
Prophet:saw: has foretold about the signs of near hour when the earthquakes and other natural disasters will become abandoned in the land. It’s a sign and does not necessarily mean a punishment from Allah:swt: .. so we should keep our mouth shut on interpreting the meaning of any natural clamity. Take it as a test, repent and be patient.
