1954
When Governor General Ghulam Muhammad dismissed the government of Chaudhary Muhammad Ali and Assembly, security was placed at Sindh High Court, as to prevent Maulvi Tameezuddin from filing petition against it. But Maulvi Tameezuddin not only managed to file petition but also won it. Governor Genreal challenged the decision in Federal court where Justice Munir in a land mark case ivented the “doctrine of necessity” and decided in favour of Governor General.
1958
General Ayub had his differnces with Justice M R Kiyani and he was forcefully retired from High Court.
1971
**Justice **BA Siddiqi of East Pakistan refused to take oath from General Tikka Khan.
1981
General ZialHaq dismissed constittion and introduced PCO, judges who refused to take oath under PCO, Justice Durraab Patel, Zaki-uddin Pal, Amer Raza, AbdulHafiz Memon, Khuda Bakhsh Marri and Fakhruddin Jee Ibrahim were sent packing by forcing their retirement.
1990
President Ghulam Ishaq Khan dismissed governmet of Benazir Bhutto and assemblies, Peshawar high court ruled against dismissal of Peshwar assembly. Government took a stay order against the decision within 24 hours from supreme court. Justice Qazi Jamil of Peshawar high court was later dismissed.
1997
Differences grew between then PM Nawaz and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, several people of the ruling party ransacked the supreme court and judge escaped bcoz he was informed of it by a reporter.
2000
Judges were asked to take oath under PCO, those who refused included Justice Saeed u Zamaan Siddiqi, Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid and Justice Wajihuddin.
