Do you Judge someone on the basis of what you have been told by others ?
Is it the right thing to do? Or does it depend on the situation?
If I meet someone for the 1st time and I have been told negatives/positives abt him/her…It doesnt make much difference to me…as I deal with the person on the basis of how he/she interacts with me.
But then again will this work in situations where for instance you are pondering over potential business partner or a rishta? etc

once you meet that person, your opinion about him may change but feedback given by others always matters and influences the first impression you may get from that person.

I treat people like they treat me, my attitude towards someone won't change because of a bitter experience with someone they might have had.

Sometimes it matters if it's coming from close friends (not frenemies) and neighbours.

I judge the person who wants me to judge others by telling me something about them. If it does not hurt my interest in any way why should I even care ? Right ?

but it is in your interest if it's a potential rishta or employee or business partner, right?
if it's just an acquaintance or potential friend....I would trust my own instinct.
Re: the topic, I used to think it was pretty unfair to judge someone based on what someone else has said without even getting to know them. but as I've gotten older I've come to understand why it happens....I think at some point in life, most of us just dont' have the time or energy to invest in someone, to "find out the truth" so to speak....so we trust the judgments of someone close to us
It may be cruel...but that's why it happens.

Sara I always thought you were one of the wise ones and I still do think that you are a wise one. So why you want me to waste some of the bytes of this forum. Yes if it will hurt my interest in anyway and the information is coming from someone I trust then I will base my judgement on that information.
Like if Bernie Madoff or Asif Ali Zardari want me to invest in a business with them , will I ignore all what is being said about them and decide to judge them based on my own experience with them ? Hell NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

For me u must knw k bataney wala ghalt b bta sakta hai…us k us shakhs k sath exp b ghalt ho sakta hai…us ka us ko samjhna mein b ghalti ho sakti hai…So always judge urself

I judge them by their avatar. Yours is annoying, LP. Therefore, with not much regret, I tell you that I don’t like you. Oh and as a result…you don’t stand much of a chance in business dealings and rishtas.

Group think can be unhealthy. Need to give the person a fair shake - be inclusive, not exclusive.

Nope...I always make my own opinions...and most of the time get shocked or hurt by it...but at least I know that I tried!

hmmm i dont judge until i dont meet, if any1 inform me about negative points of a person when i will meet , i try hard to observe more positive energy/attitude from that person.if any body tells me about good points , then obvsly i will try to eying on each and every negative point :D
