On the issue of Farrah Dogar’s enhanced marks to confirm her admission in medical, Nawaz Sharif has vowed that in case the Chief Justice did not resign he would lead a protest in collaboration with lawyers and civil society. A lot has appeared on this issue but regretfully a few important issues have been ignored.
First, in very thing we do not fail to quote Islam, Islam. To earn more and get better benefits using the public psychology we add word Islam to our medicines, cheannels, housing schemes, banking etc. The Medical College which did all out of the way to help the student in question is an “Islamic” Medical College. We start blaming and criticizing the leaders, politicians, the bureaucracy and the government but no body has till today spoken a single word that does this nation in itself not deserve all what was today happening to it? If one student at her own or if her father directly or indirectly did for which he is being alleged did all this wrong, has rest all concerned affected students and their parents done the right thing? Certainly not? Why we the students and parents always want the politicians and powers to be put everything into our laps. Why not we start ourselves struggling for ourselves? How many from amongst those who could not get admission came on streets protesting on hearing the special treatment given to a special daughter?
MQM’s Babar Ghouri early this year in a live TV debate stated that when his son told him horrible stories about drugs/sex in his Islamabad school, he immediately took him from the school and saving him shifted to USA. He was a Minister then. Despite being a leader he damn cared for millions of children of the nation including those of Mohajirs but saved only his own son. He did not very next morning cried in the Senate narrating what his son had told him in the larger interest of millions of other children. Even then we do not stop voting for MQM and supporting it. Likewise none of the parents for sake of their own medical admission deprived children cried and went to the court. But the most regretful if not shameful is that non of the Judges through out Pakistan from whom we expect justice in such matters took courage and moved any other court for their own medical admission deprived children. Or should we take that children of our judges are so able that the highest number gained by judges children all over the Pakistan are 661? None of the judge of those children who had 662 and upward numbers moved officially any court on his child having more number having been left letting Farah Doggar override. It means these judges themselves have no trust to today’s superior courts. No Naim Bukhari has so far moved the Prime Minister or the President asking for any Reference. Nawaz Sharif’s intended move would just be another routine move unless he in addition to lawyers and civil society in particular invited the admission deprived children and their parents to participate in the forthcoming move. All such deprived students and their parents unless take courage, come out to show their disapproval on that particular day should remember next year some other student(s) will get their papers re-examined and this will continue. Who knows in the past such things have not happen. It is generally believed that NGOs and specific private Associations are made for the welfare generally of members.
Al Mezan Foundation which was formed for the collective interest of judges and the Islamic Medical College is working under this Foundation. How this Foundation has discriminated its members should open the eyes of those who give donations to this and similar types of Foundations.
