Joy

It’s December time for the holidays here and joy and cheer.

What brings you the most joy in life?

Re: Joy

joy of receiving gifts and indulging in lavish feasts.

how about you, PCG?

Re: Joy

secret santa; hot chocolate near fire place; snow (sometimes)

Re: Joy

Blasphemous thread. Toba Toba.

Re: Joy

When I hit all the green lights and am able to maintain 30 to 55 mph throughout the 10 mile drive to and from work.

A close second is when I approach the light and it turns red, with anticipated wait time of 2 to 4 min. Simply turn off engine and avoid fuel waste.

Re: Joy

Being pampered by parents :roman:

(I.e; when father buys for me something I really needed or had on my wishlist and when mom cooks especially for me one of my favorite dishes are the best of joyful moments)

Re: Joy

Seeing PCG’s posts is a source of happiness.

Re: Joy

Having a peaceful life, the absence of major problems is indeed joy.

Also now that I moved to a Muslim country, am glad that I get to enjoy Islamic holidays instead of kaafir ones. No more jingle bells for me…

^This

and ^ this

Together they are pure bliss.

Re: Joy

  • Gift giving and receiving
  • Stepping into a warm and cozy house when it’s freezing cold out
  • Sitting by the fireplace, listening to good music and reminiscing about this and that
  • Making a baby laugh
  • Good food

Re: Joy

These are pleasures, not joys

Re: Joy

my niece sent me two smiley faces in text message :phati:

Re: Joy

Really? Being able to appreciate and be thankful for what you have. Giving to others when you have the resources. Self-reflections and taking joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Re: Joy

On Friday while driving the kids to school I gave away my coffee to a well deserving person standing out in the cold. His remark ‘I so could use one right now’ brought me lots of joy. May Allah make things easy on all of us.

  • Aim to wake up everyday at 5am to start my day (workout) and getting my kids fed and on their way to school on time

  • Seeing my children healthy, happy and running around

  • Someone sharing a cookie or a samosa with me (does happen quiet often now that I think about it)

  • 7/8 hours of un-interrupted sleep; waking up to see no snow out.

  • Getting the prefect wing every time I apply eyeliner

And then every night when the madness comes to a partial pause, a hot cup of chai to let me get ready to do it all over again.

Re: Joy

Being with my parents and sisters.
Seeing my parents happy.
Being with my cousins, mamu, nana, nani and khalas. Too bad theyre a 18 hour flight away.
Playing with a baby.
Eating my mom’s yummy home cooked food.

ALHAMDULLILAH. Life isn’t perfect but it can be good.

Re: Joy

Thankfully I live in a city where we get all major holidays off. Both Eids and other days of other religions are public holidays as well. Just wish we had azaan playing loudly 5 times a day though, just like in Pak.

Re: Joy

Having a break. Not having to study and getting time to read threads and blogs.
As well as spending time with family.

Re: Joy

Books and tea.

Re: Joy

Hearing my nieces and nephew together…their squeals of laughter make me infinitely happy.

When my manicure lasts longer than a week.

When I hit my goals at work.

Seeing snow outside on a day when I don’t have to drive in it AND its a bonus if both of us are home :cb:

Christmas lights and decor!

Mexican hot chocolate, downtown ice cream trips, fresh coffee that’s also of good quality, and tonsssssss more!
