I m leaving for Hajj 2011 with my family in Oct . I would request those who have done Hajj in past recent years if you can share your experience. That will be a great help for me and many others. I have studied alot of literature now i want to know real time issues tht Hajii peeep face during hajjj …

and Share some Words of Wisdom related to hajj

have lot of patience. things dont always go as planned.

there are a lot of wait times, and if you go in a hajj group, not everything would be like "what you paid for".

there is no finishing line for hajj, you will be able to do all the things you want to do, but don't expect it to be like clockwork or on time.

its things like this that upset people and make them angry, hence their hajj worship would be wasted.

be prepared for the different smells of people and the sweat, the pushing and the shoving.

take your time praying and doing worship. relish it all. have a evening where u go to the haram, and just sit there and look at the kaaba and take it all in.

Please remember me in your prayers and that my duas are answred.

it truely is an experience of a lifetime and inshallah i would loved to be called to His home again.

Man I am thinking of doing Umra and I have started collecting money to can anyone tell me how much it cost if I have to go from Lahore for 15 days?

plan for hajj as hajj jst around the corner ... money really doesnt matter much in religion issues n i guess expenses r most probably equal .

**Haj kaa safar mubaarak kare Allah. meri ek hii bas advice hai aur vo yeh k:

Recently my relatives performed Umrah and they came from Lahore. They paid Rs. 90 Thousad for each. This is beacuse they paid 20 Thousand Rs. extra to reserve a seprate room for themselve. Otherwise the ‘agent’ will full a room with maximum peoples. As my relatives told me that the agent gave one room to 10 persons.

Another reason for paying such amount is to get direct flight without any stop over on the way to there otherwise the transit transit flight will stop over twice a time (depend).

with group of around 40 plus peeps with instructor ... i didnt hav much time now just 5 more days to go .. :@:

Then I think there would be no problem b’coz the instructor will be around u peoples for better guidance. However, I’ll list few things which may be helpful to you and will update you with more asap :insh:

  • Khana Ka’aba is surrounded with seven gates. Each gate has it own name. but when u r in, all around of Khana Ka’aba will look like same. As a point, you have two things (1) Hijr-e-Aswad (2) Muqam-e-Ibrahim. You can keep this two points to remember from where you entered as well as by keep remembring the name of gate.
  • Surface inside Khana Ka’aba is cold but outsided are hot. Do not wear expensive footwear as others peoples (some black arabs i guess somalian) will steal them.
  • You’ll find telephone placed on the wall inside the boundry of Haram that can be used if you have any question regarding Umrah/Hajj.
  • Don’t keep money or any expensive things with you b’coz in rush some theif will gonna steal it and they are highly professional thiefs.
  • If your cell phone have roaming service then you alongwith your family or others make a point if some1 among you lost. So this is how u all can re-join.
  • You can get a wheel-chair free of cost by presenting your identity card (regardless which country of origin it) and once you returned the wheel-chair you can get it back from security incharge. You’ll find them right side of one of gate (don’t remember the name of gate - will mention later on if remembered).
  • Although you can get some peoples inside Haram with wheel-chair too but they’ll charge u some amount i.e. US$ 50 (depends).
  • Don’t try to take a snap-shot of Ka’aba when you in, as the security won’t allow it and they have the right to take your cell-phone or any other capturing device without returing it to you.
  • Before entering of the gates of Haram, you’ll find stairs. Befor entering on your right side, you’ll find a place where you can take Zum-Zum water free of cost as much as u want, all you need is a empty bottle. Down from staris on your right side you’ll find Zum-Zum in cooler where you can drink, fill in bottle cold Zum-Zum as much you want free of cost. On other side (leftside), there is ‘washroom’ just outside it.
  • While performing ‘Sai’ between ‘Safa’ & ‘Marva’, you’ll find a green and red light placed on top at ceiling. The green point indicates you hav to run from here and the ‘red’ where you can walk.
  • ‘Safa & Marva’ area separated from center with a little space for those who are handicaped. On right side of one of hills, you’ll find ‘Zum-Zum’ too which you can drink as much as you want. Both hills and the way between those have some stones placed on it surface which cause very strong in you feet which is unbearable after somewhile. I suggest you to start walking naked foot in your home or at place where stones are too much.
  • Muqam-e-Multazim (golden gate) is a gate which is always full round the clock. If you standing at Muqam-e-Ibrahim then you’ll see it right front of you (if i’m not wrong) peoples touch this gate and stay as long as they can and cry for forgiveness.
