journals

just a little feedback regarding the blogs.

IMO the journal initiative on GS has been quite successful. theres a whole bunch of very entertaining and active blogs and theres good readership.

I understand that this was done to fix guests from reading private entries, but could non registered members be allowed to read public blogs? I wanted to show some non members some blogs and they couldnt because they didnt have accounts.

the whole idea of a blog is to share your stuff with the world, limiting viewership to the 200 odd site members that are active isnt that great.

Re: journals

are u kidding me? its a great move. makes people have to register to use the site.

increases membership and you know that you're at least familiar with the crowd that is reading your stuff.

Re: journals

i guess i see ur point regarding people being familiar with who reads your stuff, but why would people register to read journals that they dont even know exist, and cant know what quality they are?

nevertheless, they're open to the public right now as far as i know.
