I have to admit I haven’t really been following anyone’s journals, read a couple in the beginning and didn’t really follow up after that. My own journal was quite lack-lustre with a couple of entries which I eventually deleted.
However, I recently (yesterday) hit the ‘Top Journals’ button and went through some of the more popular writers’ entries. No naming names but my discovery was shocking, I think the expression on my face must have changed several times from shock, disgust, amusement, confusion to intrigue!
I must say there are some rather interesting journals out there, some people choose to write about their experiences on gupshup, others go into morbid details about their lifestyles. (I’m not sure if I want such intimate details about your deepest darkest feelings) Some people have these incredible mood swings, that I myself feel myself feeling sad/happy as I read their entries. I’m keeping away from those now!
So is that why people are posting less these days, you’re spending time reading/writing journals?
err.. is that good or bad?
my journal isnt as much fun as ashtray's or mehnaz or LB, that i love to read regularly. some arnold dude has a dhoti theory in his/her journal .. which is hilarious.
there was a question like that in the feed back few months ago. apparently they can or atleast admins can, but they dont do it or alteast they say they dont.
No we can't access private journals unless we are given access by the specific individual.
I like reading journals though. People share so much of themselves here, it's amazing. Their thoughts, fears, dreams, desires, etc. .... you get to see a side of someone you don't usually see through their posts alone.
I personally liek readin them, if im having a crappy day, some of them r good enuf to cheer me up.. and Mashallah se we have pretty good writers on this forum, atleast i think we do. N im so guilty of spendin my time on readin journals rathar than posts-
The same thing I can say about ppl sharing so much information about themselves in the forums .. I remember thinking once how people can share so much of themselves on such forums but as GS has a family environment, I dont think its so bad, of course we dont share each and every single thing that happens in our (mine) live(s). In the end who cares, we dont know the other person personally only his/her online personality .. I bet many of us are different when it comes to our 'real life'
Yes I've read Shahreen's (the bit where her son is poking the sheep in the eyes is hilarious!) , let me have a look at ashtrays. The only male with a decent journal which I've read is armughal.
