Journalism

So im an undergrad wanting to pursue my career in journalism… i study at a pakistani university and am planning to do MA in International relations and then go for masters in journalism from abroad(probably USA or Canada) …my problem is im a girl .shy, quiet & go through social anxiety .But all in it to win it… coz i dont know what career i can choose in social sciences that interest me more than writing.i’ve always loved reading and fantasize about being a writer.

Tell me is it hard to become a journalist as a muslim girl ? im just really frustrated. i need to make sure i make it in the career.

Re: Journalism

Depends. Do you wear the hijab, not interact with men unless with a necessity, keep your business to your work, etc.? Basically, are you a practicing Muslim?
If yes, then it might be an issue if you want to travel around the world by yourself and write and stuff.

Because, firstly, women aren't allowed to travel without a mahram accompanying them. And then, you might have to face issue for being a Muslim in of itself. Islamophobia and whatnot.

If you want to just write from where you are, then I dont' see any issues. I mean, you can write and have a voice in the society. There are so many things you can do, esp. related to women's rights and or human rights.
