Hello…

I am Amir. I am a student in Britain.

I would like to hear from established journalists (business, political, social writers) who specialise in South Asia, East Asia or South East Asia. Particularly those who reside in any of those regions.

It would be helpful to me to hear stories of how they managed to build a career. I myself will start out soon but I am afraid I am a little apprehensive.

I am also interested in knowing if it is easy to couple freelance work while working with a daily newspaper or magazine, to supplement income.

Any information at all will be helpful.

Let me refer you to Muzna, I know she did a lot of free lance journalist work in Toronto. I will also ask one of my bhabhis, she used to write for some Pakistani Magazine.

I watched an interview this morning on the news of Binda Rai, Editor of a newspaper to be launched tomorrow called, "The Asian".

The lady has made some high-handed claims and hopefully she will deliver.
