joshanda tea ok in pregnancy?

ITS A HERBAL TEA, im sure many of you know it, i had really bad sore throat and i had some joshanda in my tea and it worked well for me…just wondering if its ok though, im assuming it is…?

yes it is ! but u can always ask your obgyn first !

my doc told me to not risk taking surficol/suduri, given these guys may put in any ingredient!

she told me to do gargles instead

I wouldnt take it if i were you. No herbal stuff unless its commonly used in pregnancy.

I talked to my herbalist and he strictly told me not to take joshanda during pregnancy...coz it has steroids in it.... so avoid it...

WE think it is herbal so won't harm but there are ingredients they don't list on their packaging... so be careful...

ooo noo im woried now, had about 4 packets already, and whats annoying is that it worked for me , my sore throat is fine now..: WAS actually enjoying it.

so can i have kava...green leaves and elaichi ok right..gosh am sooo confused with all the discretionary stuff we think is ok but not sure.....

Nadz don't worry too much. I had a lot of joshanda in both my pregnancies, assuming it's okay. Just found out, it has steroids. !!! Avoid it now but don't worry!
I am assuming green tea with ilaichi is okay... no?

there is something called* Mul-latt-hii* which u can use .... u can get it from desi shop.... boil in a water and u can add elachii or other stuff in it to make it yummy and drink that water... its really good for soar throat

nadz pls take juices which are room temp or warm, or regular green tea with mint, or ginger or elaichi or black pepper (I don't know but different ingredients help with different ailments) .... and drink those... why turn to stuff that we do not know about....

Trust me .... every thing we put in ourselves during pregnancy affects our baby and our body.... and these herbal things are great if u are not carrying a baby.... also our masalas that have high msg and all the other stuff ..... good luck to you ...

I also didn't know it has steroids !!!!!

My doctor said ok to me for it during my pregnancy and a friend of mine had alot of it during her pregnancy.

For bad throat gargle with salted warm water it really helps !

green tea is discouraged during pregnancy because it affects folate absorption

green tea has shown to inhibit absorption of folic acid so i'd avoid it as well. most herbal teas have not been studied enough so when it doubt, skip it.
