I think Joowa is card games with money right? Or does it mean Cassino?
As for ThaaSh in Pakistan men often play cards but not always for money. I used to like playing cards to pass the time as well as do slight of hand majic tricks but these days everyone has a different way to play with cards and my Nephew in England plays with these Yoojeeo and Pokeman cards.
Back home when playing cards as a young man we used to play speed games… innevetably they were like chess but with cards and much more faster pace. I think English name for the game is “Slam”
Oh I see, but in Pakistan and India I saw Joowa being played without cards too it was with dice and things like little teelay, er toothpick sticks. Not sure what the idea was as I did not play the games but after observing it for a while a lot of money was changing hands and I walked away. No point fighting over it. I used to get angry when I saw it outside the village and in the towns and cities and had some rough brawls becuase of it but when it was so prevalent in the army I just learned to live with it.

Log to murgo ko lara kar bhi juwaa khelte hain..........:)
BTW You should write a book about your experiences ...you are well traveled man bro...
I learned to play cards while doing my A'levels, but we never played for money and I was horrible at it. Others could always see my cards or my grin would give away my bluff. I'd go bankrupt if I played for money. Ripping on each other and laughing at each others stupidity was the real fun.
Juwaa iks gambling related to cards
juvaa is gambling...with or without cards! cards kahan se beech meN le aaye...kabhi casino gaye ho? Casino juvaa-aDDaa hii hotaa hai aur vahaN na jaane kis kis andaaz meN juvaa khelaa jaataa hai.
shart bhii juvaa kii ek form hai...it's NOT any lesser than juvaa if we realize it...
juvaa kii definition yeh hai:
any chance-game is juvaa where you bet on anything from numbers to an event taking place in future!
Saeed are you in UK? Or has Pakistan started using A level system too?
Ninja I might write a book when I have finally stopped travelling… or maybe I might never write such a book becuase few would bother reading it. I worked on a short film once and everyone who saw it came away changed and thinking deeply but when we presented it to a board for review they said it would never sell… then again I wonder how Micheal Moore does so well. I had a friend in Egypt who wrote a book and the Government of the day put him in prison. Risky business this Media

Good thing we can deduce from this is few of us have ever been to a Casino. Which come to think of it is a good thing. :D
So Joowa is more correctly translated as "betting" right?
