Interesting! In my community when the girl gets married, a relative of the bride ex: sister, cousin or brother accompanies the bride to the in-laws house for upto a month. The rationale behind this is that the new bride may not know anybody and may be shy or over-whelmed. Also, she will have a familiar face to confide in if necessary. The relative will also get an idea about the bride’s new family/extended family and can see if she is being treated fine. Do you have such traditions in your place?

yes we do had this custom in Sindh that a relative of bride stayed with her in laws for sometime. Now, the duration of stay is limited to 1-2 days
