My heart atches when i read news like this, One of the reason i dont like reading papers.
Just read that in papers here in Karachi that British Parliment member (from oposition party) Winerton is asked to leave her office by Mr. Ryan Dincon bcos she told a un respectful joke about pakistan in a Rugby Club Dnner party when she was giving her speech.
the joke goes like this :
in train there were a cuban, british, Japanees & 3 Pakistani’s were travelling. after a while cuban toke an expenssive Hawana cigar out & throw it out the window. others asked “why u did that” he replied “in my country i get 10 of these in single penny” with proud.
looking at this, japanees toke out an expenssive micro video camera & throw it out & said the same thing that they get 10 of these in single penny in japan.
after 10 min british throw one pakistani out saying “we get 10 of these in a single penny”

Some ethnic jokes have humor in them. This remark is nowhere near funny. What a dumb lady. I think the owner of the restaurant was asian, even. Don’t be too down about it, the MP is outta there and I value this site for conversation with Pakis. I am an American with no predjudices.

I agree, some ethinc joke do have humour, even i myself enjoy them, its just when u r at the level where u represent something like a president or minister, u r representing the whole nation, group or community, at that level i wont enjoy joke like this from them. even i would enjoy it (maybe) if some comedian told this joke on stage, but not the parliment member.
