Pakistan invites Afghan soldiers
** Pakistan has invited a unit from the Afghan army to take part for the first time in a joint military exercise next month, along with US forces. ** The announcement came at the end of a regular security meeting between the three nations in Islamabad.
It is part of efforts to co-ordinate the fight against militants along the rugged Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
In the past, both countries have accused the other of doing too little in the fight against the militants.

Pakistan should be training with US special forces and incorporating high-tech doctrines into their style of combat that with Afghan Army which is so utterly incompetent

yah i'd think so too. who comprises the so called afghan army anyway? the old North Allianace fighters who got a crash course in modern warfare from privates and corporals of US military?

i agree w/ mercenary2k - that is the only way pak military can actually get ahead. creating an alliance with afghanistan is a good political step..might even help them out a lil bit, but speaking on military grounds, its not gonna benefit pak a whole lot. im not that well-informed..tell me more abt it.
