The army is the biggest leech in the country. Like a baby...forever attached to a teet..but had grown teeth!
The arrogance of the army wallahs is what I find annoying. I went to an Army school so I know.

The Army is no different from the rest of the society. The officers get to treat the poor soldiers as their personal servants, and why shouldn't they when the rest of the entitled people have maids.
I'm sure waiting on Army brats wasn't what they had thought of when those poor soldiers enlisted. The Army is arrogant, but it can't be reined in or told to go back to it's barracks before the elected representatives clean up their act. The Army's corruption still isn't as obvious as it is in other public institutions.
Corruption doesn't mean you shouldn't join the Army. You should join with the conviction to not give into corruption, knowing that you might have to retire early if it becomes impossible to stay clean. However that is highly unlikely. They'll just post you to some obscure location or keep you from getting promoted so that you don't bother them.

The Pakistan Army is sadly about serving the Generals interests only. It is a burden on the nation to be honest. I feel sorry for the bottom ranks who are canon fodder for the double dealing Generals. The officers are aloof from the nation.
But dont let that stop this person joining. Be optimistic and maybe he//she could make a difference?

^ this is one of the reason of their feeling of neglect, doesn't seem we have learnt anything. I have heard that somehow during the past few years the induction in army from balochistan has increased.
