I think i should shoot myself in the head for missing the first 2 episodes of Joey but since that would be a great lost for humanity i would settle for my neighbor’s kid.
I was waiting for Joey the whole summer and when it finally comes i somehow manage to miss it. Not once, but twice.

so to people who have seen it, is it really good so far??? I’ve seen some really good reviews across the internet but i would like to know what ive been missing on these past two weeks.
well you're the winner here.. i won't get back those 90 minutes of my life.. it's a total waste.. it's not going ANYWHERE... definitely not "must see tv' by any standards..
so Thursdays i just skip to The Apprentice..

I mean its nothing like friends and they forgot to make it humourous in any sense. Its bland and unintelligent nonsense.

it's Ironic that Joey used to be the "funny one" at times in friends.. but now that he's supposed to be the lead those around him make him look 'normal'.. and unfunny.
I don't think its that bad. Hype is one thing, but Friends was never a stellar comedy either. Its just simple goofy stuff that goes on in life that makes you smile. The problem with Joey is two-fold. #1 the benchmark is too high, and #2 it is missing 5/6th of Friends team, and it takes time to get used to a new thing.
In Joey, they try to roll in the characters of both Joey and Chandler. I liked how Time magazine summarized it (paraphrasing) "Anytime, the writers of 'Joey' want him to deliver a Chandler-like zinger, they just lend him 50 IQ points for 5 seconds". Thats becoming the 'problem' of Joey.
Otherwise its same mindless, funny 30-mins that are neither supposed to be earth-shatteringly humorous nor is designed to take itself too seriously.
is it really this bad??????????

If you compare Joey to 24 or 'The West Wing' then we definitely have a big problem :D

If you guys were expecting Joey to outshine Friends right away than you were bound to be disappointed. Give it some time. I'm sure someone who didn't watch friends at all but is watching Joey right now will like it as it is.
