Job Specifications

  • Minimum Education:

BSc chemistry degree.

  • Minimum Experience:

5 years
MSc substitutes for 2 years experience.

  • Skills:

  • Good understanding of chemistry.

  • Knowledge of the chemistry of formaldehyde based phenolic and amino resins is an asset.

  • Basic understanding of the engineering processes used in resin production.

  • Experimental design and project planning skills.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Proficiency in the use of computer software.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Effort:

  • Ability to work safely both independently and in groups in a lab setting.

  • Occasional travel.

  • Managing multiple tasks.

Job Specifications

  • Minimum Education:

        B.S. in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Minimum Experience:

        8-10 years relevant manufacturing experience.

  • Skills:

  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing a plant of 25+ employees

  • Knowledge of resin manufacturing and/or paper treating.

  • Knowledge of Office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

  • Communication – must be able to provide information and communicate with all staff with ease. Including well developed presentation/facilitation skills.

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer is a plus

  • Effort:

         - Computer operations for extended periods
     - Ability to coach and mentor employees
     - Take part/lead meetings
     - Time and effort required to meet specified deadlines
     - Occasional travel within North America
     - Must be self-motivated and have the ability to communicate with people
     - Being on-call on a frequent basis

  • Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals, which require personal protective equipment

  • Must be able to wear a respirator

  • Exposure to process plant machinery

  • Primarily office environment

  • Required to carry a company cell phone and to work remotely on occasion.
