Position: System Analyst
Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Supervisor: Al Fish, Business Systems Manager
**Position Summary:
**The Systems Analyst’s role is to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient information systems and operations systems in support of core organizational functions. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
**Position Accountabilities:
**Model business and systems processes through use case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data models.
Document the company’s existing systems architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.
Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.
Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.
Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
Coordinate and perform change management controls, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
**Qualifications:
**Computer related degree or diploma
Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in systems analysis and design
Minimum 3-5 years of experience with Windows and Linux/Unix , Oracle Applications, Basware and VM ware environments
3-5 years of project management experience
**Skills:
**Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis.
Proven experience in systems and network design and development.
Strong understanding of information processing principles and practices.
Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Highly self motivated and directed
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
