Job Duties

  • Manage a team of database administrators and network administrators to provide database and IT support for the entire organization.

  • Oversee procurement and implementation of all hardware and software needs for the organization.

  • Develop software tools for various departments to increase productivity.

  • Identify and implement automation of procedures for all departments in the organization.

  • Oversee network infrastructure, data integrity and data security for entire organization.

  • Manage technical support for the organization.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and ensure functionality of nationwide virtual private network.

  • Develop and enforce IT policies with regard to hardware/software/e-mail usage.

  • Administer and monitor donor database. Ensure data integrity, security and database clean up.

  • Oversee IT and database support for departments with reports and queries. Oversee the gathering of information for IR initiatives and outreach programs, as well as performing analysis of data.

  • Direct implementation of new tools and modules for the database and assists in establishing processes for data flow within the organization.

  • Oversee database maintenance and database back-up.

  • Supervise technical support for all offices, including for workstations, network connectivity, software support, etc.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and ensure functionality of nationwide phone system.

  • Oversee regular back-ups of servers and workstations. Develops and maintains stringent back-up policy. Oversee emergency recovery of data when necessary.

  • Direct the daily performance of computer systems; manage backup, security and user help systems.

  • Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.

  • Stay abreast of advances in technology, and develop strategies to utilize such advances for the benefit of the organization.

  • Evaluate the organization’s technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades.

  • Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.

  • Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience with both database administration and network administration.

  • A minimum of 3 years of managerial experience, 5 years preferred.

  • Must be able to manage time effectively and work closely with IT staff to achieve department’s objectives in a professional and timely manner.

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, enterprise databases, relational database design, database normalization, database cleanup, data migration and data backup.

  • Extensive experience with networking, routing, access levels, permissions, network troubleshooting.

  • Experience with and knowledge of virtual private networks.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot; determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

  • Must be capable of working constructively in a team environment and use appropriate conflict management skills when necessary.

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service which includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
