I worked for the government before as my first job , i gt that job without an interview as it was a temp job and i went through an agency

now i applied for a permanent role and have an interview

has anyone ever had an interview for a job within the gov in uk before

what was some of the questions u were asked

and how should i treat this interview , normal or should i be more prepared

oki dokes. my bro woks for the gov so he should be able to tell.
if u want PM me tge agency, sometimes it varies agency to agency..e.g. home office is going to be diff than lets say health services

The type of interview you will have will depend on the department, job and seniority.

You should be prepared on the details of the job, the department, and ministers and secretaries (if its Civil Service). If its one of the Agencies, you should read up on the legislation that set up the agency and its funding regime.

There may or may not be psychometric testing. Our agency doesn’t do it - but civil service do.

They will ask if you have questions for them - do prepare at least couple of them. e.g. about the role and responsibilities, about how the role fits in within the organisation, progression and promotion possibilities/ criteria. etc

It shows you have read up on the job, and the organisation.
