I recently moved to Pakistan (KPK) from NYC, I have a high school degree which is equivalent to a FSC in Pak, plus I did 2 years after but didn't get my degree. I want to know if its possible to get a job with this education in Pak? Thanks

your thread title is a bit misleading. you don't have a degree. what did you do for two years after High School?
i don't think you can get a good job with your level of education. sorry for being a little straightforward. i would suggest you go back to the US and i'm sure you can earn a better living there or you may want to finish your education first. you have a whole life in front of you...you need to go back to university to get a degree in order to have a better life with a better job.

I have a question. If one has a degree from Pak that came from a uni that is not accredited by the US, does the degree match up with a degree for the US...as in will it still be functional to where you can get a job in the field of your degree in the US?

I am looking for basically any job, doesn't have to be a "good job". And I can't go back to the US, I left for good/permanently cause of bad environment.

Amin to the dua. And I'am really sorry but I don't know how strong your degree will be in US. However I know that people who have a degree in Pak and come in the US will have to take special tests in order to get a job in the field of the degree. For example a doctor in Pak with Pak degree cannot be a doctor in US unless he takes some special tests and pass them, than he can be a doctor. I hope this reply helps

well, i consider a degree either to be an undergraduate degree or a graduate degree or a doctoral degree...you may be 'technically' right.

Just a quick question is a job with at least 15,000 rupees possible? And where can I begin my search? That's considering I was a top student in highschool with a GPA of 94.48 out of 100.
The thing is, what is the value of "American" education in Pak? How good are my chances compared to someone with Pak education.

I had a relative who had to go back to India. His daughter had to leave her undergraduate school at the beginning of 1st semester. She enrolled in Pharmacy program in India. Has finished her bachelors. And is now doing her Masters.
You may consider finishing up your undergraduate degree in Pakistan. The two years should count for something.
By the way, you DO HAVE a degree from US. Not just "technically"
One plus point - education in Pakistan will be cheaper for the bachelor's. So I would consider ur going back a POSITIVE.

If you are not planning on pursuing further education anytime soon and just want to do a job, call centers might be the place to start. You won't be filtered out if you apply online for those jobs. A couple of the websites you can create your profile on

Yes inshallah, the education is cheaper in Pakistan, I'll perhaps continue my undergrad here but I need to make some money as well, so a job is a must.
And yes I have a real degree, I asked my family to send me the documents/diploma from highschool and the transcript for my 2 years in college/uni.

Salaries in call centers are around per 10,000 a month. Trust me you can do much better than a call center. I have lived and worked in Pakistan, they are a sucker for American accents and America retuned people. Foreign banks could hire you too.

That's good to hear, yeah I've noticed that people turn their heads when I mention that I came from America. Unfortunately most of them dont realize how bad the society in US is. Its better to be poor in Pakistan than becoming a Kaafir in the US.

True, and anyways I'am only about a few credits short of an associate's degree, I can probably finish that here in Pak. I'll see what to do in the upcoming months as I explore my options.
If you are a few credits short of an associates degree, either complete that or transfer to a decent online degree granting university. This way you can work towards getting your US bachelors degree as well.
