Policy Analysts: (1) EAST ASIA and (2) ARAB AND MUSLIM WORLDS. The U.S.
Commission on International Religious Freedom is seeking two policy
analysts with a strong background and substantial experience related to
religious freedom and other human rights in (1) Northeast Asia, with
particular focus on China and North Korea; and (2) The Arab and Muslim
worlds, including Iraq, Iran, and the Muslim areas of East and West
Africa. Qualified applicants will also have experience in the development
and implementation of U.S. foreign policy in these areas. Language ability
is desirable. Responsibilities will include monitoring developments in
U.S. foreign policy and conditions of religious freedom and related human
rights in selected countries and regions; researching and drafting
briefing materials, reports, correspondence, and testimony; analyzing the
successes and failures of U.S. policy; developing policy recommendations to promote respect for human rights, including religious freedom, and
monitoring the implementation of those recommendations; interacting with
representatives of religious communities and other non-governmental
organizations, State Department and other U.S. government officials,
foreign delegations, and academic and other experts; preparing briefing
materials; and organizing Commission missions abroad, private briefings,
