Jizya tax - What was the logic?

Re: Jizya tax - What was the logic?

But Khilafat was for only a short span of time. Some western writers (like Karen Armstrong) claim that for a long time, Arabs were not interested in converting people from other areas and they developed separate cities outside the conquered areas. This was the time when politics and religion were integrated.

Once Muslims rulers (khalifas) changed to Monarchs, integration between the politics and religion came to an end and afterwards there arose serious differences between the rulers and religious scholars. Famous scholars were imprisoned because they didn’t want to be the part of that Monarchy set-up.
