kia khabR thee yehi jalaaye gi mera ghar
suraj ki rooshnii se mujhe pyaar boht tha

kul ja raha tha wo mere dushmano`n k saath
kehne ko wo mera yaar boht tha

jul bhujhii jo tareekii mitanay k waastay
us shama ki lu se hamien pyaar boht tha

ker gaya wohi mujhe kaanto` k hawalay
jis k waday pe kia aetbaar boht tha

ser-e-mehfil jo ankh bharr ayee
zabt kerna mujhe dushwaar boht tha

us ki nazR mien aaj koii Qeemat nahi merii
chund roz pehle wo mera talab-gaar boht tha
