Why would they even put Bhutto and Zia-ul-Haq in this list with Jinah?

What about the other leaders?

Bhutto isnt a bad choice, as a politician/leader, he was alot better than alot of the other options in this poll.

Yes Spock yara, he only oversaw the dismemberment of Pakistan..But I digress.

It is indeed good to know that Quaid is being recognized as the grestest personality of South Asia. For us Pakistanis, he is the creator of our destiny, the guide of our development and the beacon of greater things that lie ahead.

Quaid e Azam is a personality much envied, maligned by many Indians, Pakistanis and others..however history has not failed him and his greatness will forever live on as long as the Sohni Dharti.

Bhutto was an incredible politician, and we owe alot to him. Jinnah was more than a politician, he was a leader and a founder.

As for Jinnah, what you said is right, but please dont tell me that South India recognizes him on the basis of this poll alone. We have people in our own country who call him all sorts of things, let alone south asians.

Re: Jinnah tops BBC’s greatest South Asian leader poll

In my belife, Mr M.A. Jinnah (Shaib) did what most people only talk about! He fought for what he belived and even though he was rediculed my the Muslim Leauge on Many occasions befrore the creation he fought like a true advocate and won the rights for fellow south asian muslims, he could have remained in London in his kensington mansion along with her daughter and his practice, however he came back albiet with the insistance of some very close friends. He proves to be a shining beacon of guidance for all Pakistani's that nothing is impossible, although many have neglected Pakistan, Lets make this year 2005 a year for change, a year where we see no obstacles only oppertunity, those who came before have failed us, it is upto the youth to guide Pakistan to prosperity.

Re: Jinnah tops BBC’s greatest South Asian leader poll

how is this even belieavable? India has what 9 or 10 times pakistan population? By sheer numbers any global poll on any subject will be dominated by China and India, all else being equal.

Re: Jinnah tops BBC’s greatest South Asian leader poll

That is why GS rocks. :jhanda:

Re: Jinnah tops BBC’s greatest South Asian leader poll

Maybe many Indians, Chinese, Americans and others voted for Jinnah

Re: Jinnah tops BBC’s greatest South Asian leader poll

Yeah. Jinnah acheived more than any other leader in recent times. He got results, and that’s what matters. Quaid-e-Azam zindabad!

Re: Jinnah tops BBC’s greatest South Asian leader poll

i voted for the poll but i think it's been poorly organized.. i voted thrice for gandhi myself confession.. so i lost faith in it.. no way to count individual votes and reject repetitions... further i dont know why they even lumped so many people of diverse backgrounds together.. there is always the chance of gandhi winning solely on the basis of india's sheer population! i thought this was a stupid poll altogether... fcouse this is not to belittle quaid... i personally think he was a very patriotic indian and committed pakistani, in that order. :Salute:

Re: Jinnah tops BBC’s greatest South Asian leader poll

Proves the power of 130,815 *faarigh *Pakistanis. *Yayyy!!! *:k:

Re: Jinnah tops BBC’s greatest South Asian leader poll

i guess we need to figure out how many of them were GS members and then as desibanda said, multiply it by 3.
