I saw this drama on prime a few months back and was blow away.
For one the entire drama is shot in black&white to stay true to the historical era. The wardrobes of the character, the locations and everything depict the time period so well. But perhaps the best thing about the drama is the guy who played Jinnah. His body language, his gestures, his lines and his performance was so good that one actually compare him to Christopher Lee (Jinnah). Not saying that he was better than Lee.
The other characters like Jinnah’s love interest Ratna and Ratna’s family, Fatma Jinnah, Liaqat Ali Khan all fitted their roles like glove. Gandhi’s role whoever played did a justice to this role by depicting his ideas and clearing his point of views. That’s another thing I like that they didn’t make an evildoer out Gandhi as any Indian would to Jinnah in a drama based on Gandhi’s life.
If you haven’t seen it then muziq.net is currently playing all of the episodes. Trust me it’s a must watch.
This drama is a blast, I remember when the guy who performed Mr. Jinah’s role was invited in Nelam Ghar the whole public stood up and claped for atleast 5 mins. :k: :k: :k:
I have been trying to get this drama on video here in California but no luck yet... can anybody tell me if this drama is available somewhere on video? Also, I have been looking for the DVD of the Jinnah movie, so any help in this regard would also be greatly appreciated...
