Than you Ali for this site. Wonderful movie. Feel truly proud as a Pakistani.
Would like to recomend this movie to our library, so can anyone tell us where we can get it. There must be some place where we can buy it. After all it was released back in '97!
hmm... i saw it in pakistan in the theatre. it was a decent movie. What i didnt like about it was that it kept trying to explain to the viewer that the Quaid was not a bad man, felt like a response to the movie gandhi, only 15 years late. It seemed like it was on the defensive all the time. I would have liked it better if it just told his story without trying to be apologetic and using weird plot devices that half the people in the theatre didnt get. I liked the young Quaid's acting a lot though.
I disagree with Maani in this regard! Qaid's Image has been always misunderstood in the west and also in the rest of the world and has be portrayed that he was power hungry and an orietalist who sacrificing many lifes created Pakistan.
Which is not true and this Story beautifully explains how! What was done by the Qaid and then showing why it was done and then showing the consequences if there had been no Pakistan!
I think it is one of the greatest movies I have ever seen, I love the last seen where Qaid E Azam is hown having no regrets creating Pakistan and then says if he could apologize he would apologize to only the Mohajirs who lost so much migrating. And I love how Talat Hussain acted in the last seen. I must admit I cried on how they showed an ordinary mans lovefor Qaid E Azam.
Qaid E Azam was truely a great leader and Movie Jinnah portrays an excellent image of Qaid. Unlike Gandhi where they just show what happened and in many ways hide the truth show gandhi and Nehru as saints!
