Jinna de ghar wich daney

Ouna de Kamley wi siyaney …

This is the most incorrect muhawara i know. Luxuries spoil you, it does not make you smart.

Re: Jinna de ghar wich daney

I get the mahawara.. but what's karnley mean xactlY?

Re: Jinna de ghar wich daney

kamla, = bhola , naive , not very sharp , stupid etc

Jhalli , bholi is used for girls

Re: Jinna de ghar wich daney

I think it's a good mahawra, since I have seen a couple of examples of it. We know a family where they have a guy who's not just naive, but also very stupid, but the family is extremely well off, so he's well respected (for obvious reasons) among his friends and relatives.

Then there's another family we know which has a guy who's just very naive (but not stupid like the first guy) but they are very poor, so he always gets insulted and rediculed by some of his other family members. Sad, but that's what makes this mahawra true.

Re: Jinna de ghar wich daney

so bhola bholi is an insult? :bummer::frowning:

Re: Jinna de ghar wich daney

Well to me, bhola or bholi is more of a compliment than an insult. It means that you believe people easily and are not the "makkar" type. I am not an expert in punjabi, but I think kamla refers more to a mentally challanged person than a naive one.

Re: Jinna de ghar wich daney

now explain in english . as my spellings are weak . it’s hard to read and understand in urdu :bummer:

Re: Jinna de ghar wich daney

It means their wealth acts as a cover up for their stupidity, sort of like makes up for their other insufficiencies because people look over them, I think.

Re: Jinna de ghar wich daney

I know peopel who are very clever and manipulative and people/street smart. They’re dangerous coz they will act like your best freind, earn your trust, say everything jokingly or with the best intentions and u laugh with them, and then a mnute later ure like “wtf did she just say???” :konfused: I do think it’s possible to be smart but not at the cost of being a total jerk.

Re: Jinna de ghar wich daney

no it has reverse and teasing meaning.
