Once my I went to see my cousin in mental hospital(psychiatric institute) in lahore.
He took me to upper floor where patients were in cells like jails, and if I remember correctly one per cell.
Cousin told me those were the patient under stronger drugs and if left untreated considered possessed.
However I do believe there is paranormal stuff, I have seen it in action.

I'm from Manchester too, (best city in the uk, forget london, lol). Its october so we can go awol? no? haha..

Is there any insight to why a jinn would possess someone's body? What is the motive?
Because if jinns are suppose to be powerful then why get into a body of a lesser creature?

The general rule for medical condition versus true Jinn encounter is to assess the person on medical grounds if they pass the test and there is no other explanation left - then your conclusion needs to be Jinn ... it's only fair!

Thing with doctors are they never gave up, they have term for every thing.
Where they don't they categorize wide variety of symptoms under one label.
I think, if there are signs out side of a persons head, then no one can deny it.
If things happening around the patient with out his physical interaction.

Inspiron, it is funny that you made a thread like that because that is EXACTLY what I think of 80% "possessions". I just think it's kinda odd that a desi person gets possessed only by a desi jinn. Or english-speaking folks get possessed by english-speaking jinns. Personally, I think when there is some mental disorder, typical jinn tendencies always come to the surface. All the male-voices and superhuman strength and all that jazz.

I think you need to read Surah Al-jinn.
At the risk of getting infraction points, you're assuming that Surah Al-jinn is "true". Some people don't consider it to be fact. Perhaps the whole idea of Jinns came about because people in 600 AD didn't understand mental disorders.

its bimari!.... there are no jinns... jinns are things/creatures which cant be seen... which are bacterias or animals which come in dark. its not humzad or roohian or anyother thing. ppl who feel someone is bugging them and talk to them.... its bimari... and looking at all the morning shows going crazy with proving that there are jins... need to go and see doctors.... and so does the 85% of our nation!
