Actually, no one wants insecurity and terrorism. If MQM and PPP wanted violence and killings to continue then they wouldn’t be talking with each other about local body setup and other things.
Pashtun people also want peace because most of them are poor laborers working on daily wages. Insecurity in the city would take away their livelihood. This is why ANP wouldn’t want violence either.
I think the reason there is violence among supporters of these parties is the lack of trust among them. This lack of trust originates from not talking to each other when problems arise.
And in this respect, it is a good initiative on the part of MQM to take the first step for starting a conversation.
I don’t know what will happen in the future but at this moment this looks like a good development for the city, which should be appreciated instead of ridiculing.
