it is actually 500 mw. gujrat with its strong leadership takes the lead in india. it just inaugurated worlds biggest solar park wich will generate 500 mw of electricity.
gujrat is actually very innovative. they covered canals with solar panels which provide many benefits.
- it prevents 95 million gallons of water from evaporating.
- since it is over the canal then it has zero land acquisition cost.
- since the electricity is provided to the villagers , so all the canals being in villages it saves the line loses.
and all that with ADB’s money and they will also make money from getting carbon credit awards.
