I don't think it will last that long. Naah!
Sex SHOP!!?! IN mecca? NOway! It won't happen.
*V~V~V*He came, He saw, He conquered*V~V~V*
Doesnt take a genius to figure out the rubbish nature of this newsletter and news item, both alike. I would hope muslims would do a double take on such items before believing them or publishing them like this.
Non muslims are not even allowed entry into Mecca and Medina....how on earth do u think they would end up setting a business there? that too of such a gross nature? Get real. Think twice.
Without accepting that the story is correct, I assume a non-muslim can appoint muslims to open any shop they want in Mecca. In today's Mecca we can find several brand name shops, obviously operated by muslims, although the real owners are foreigners.
Re: this shop which will "...restrict the first sales to exotic lingerie, leather goods and PVC bodywear. It hopes to introduce chocolate bodypaints and massage oils later."
Wierd stuff!!! Who cares for them or buys them, anyway? Still, whats all the fuss about? As long as the shop is not selling naked images, magazines and items made of haraam raw material, and is staffed by muslims.
So it will fail, or it will be a rousing success. What do we care. Afterall there are people who actually live in Mecca, in addition to millions who come their for pilgrimage and visit. Its just business.
Life is too short to waste
Enjoy... and be Happy
I dont think this is going to be possible. Since the beginning the Jews have always tried to conspire against Islam.
For centuries no Non-Mulim has set foot on that Land and now all of a sudden we hear this. Astaghfirullah!!
In the Gulf War two American generals tried to enter Makkah, they were shot down by Pakistani personnel. Allah himself has taken reponsibility of protecting his house

Ayub Laher, the general secretary
of the Bradford Council of Mosques, said that the shops would provide an
outlet to explore fantasies: "Islam encourages a man and wife to please
each other within the confines of their own homes. Underwear is allowed,
massage oils can be part of innocent fun and as long as leather is not
made out of pigskin, that is fine too."
[/quote]
Somebody thinks it will sell, and that it is allowed under Islam law.
The moderator edited, rather expunjed my post, which was not at all harmful or abusive or threating towards anyone in person or belief. When Prophet swaw performed his only Haj, he allowed the participants to make love to their wives as soon as they opened their ahraams. If anything, the moderator needs to broaden her horizons by reading and researching Islam, rather than being threatened by petty things like sex accessory shop in Mecca. Iqbal once said
zaahid e tang nazar nay mujhay kaafir samjha
aur kaafir ye samajhta hay ke musalman houn mai
If anything he/she is ought to delete offensive posts like this. I am not a shia nor a wahabi, but such views about another Muslim is nothing but abhorent.
"Shias aren't allowed to live in Mecca, and you idiots think the ****ing wahabis will let some jews operate a sex shop?"
I have a question for moderator. My post was not offensive to any sect or person or any religion, so may I know what grounds have you manufactured to delete something which was well within the rules of this board.
BWhen Prophet swaw performed his only Haj, he allowed the participants to make love to their wives as soon as they opened their ahraams.**
And what does this statement imply? Nothing other than marital relations are allowed after the end of hajj obligations, nothing else.
Look at it from a logical viewpoint. You cannot simply use the age old argument of 'broadening ur horizon' or dumping the fundamentalistic attitude. In this matter, its more a matter of common sense than anything else. The past few years, they have practically cleaned up new york city of all such shops......so you know it has nothing to do with being broadminded, or liberal. Its a simple issue of morality, something that is stressed in Islam more than anywhere else.
What a couple does in the privacy of their home is their business, and Islam does not condone external intrusion.
2Pak,
You have been warned about your language on this forum several times. You don't seem to learn the lesson.
There will not be another time. Shape up or ship out. The message cannot be clearer than this.
Dear Akif!
That is exactly my point. When I say 'broaden ur horizon', I never imply to take the path of immorality, but if you look carefully, this so call sex shop, (it is more like Vicotoria's Secret) and comparingly it to those sex or fantasy shop in downtown NY or Amsterdam is also little fa-ar fetched. The original poster should classify it as intimate wear shop. I mean what the hell is wrong with it. Mecca is not a city but a phenomenon - a spectacle!! Afterall people who live in Mecca do have natural desires, and fulfull them in prescribed way. That is what I was saying in my original post that people who are married may want add spice, tast and color to their lives, so how the heck this shop is going to threaten Islam.
My outrage was against the moderator who expunged my post completely. I was not being offensive to anyone. He/She is completely free to disagree with my pov, but have no business taking it out. It did not voilate the commandments of this board. That is my outburst and I would appreciate you looking into it.
Thanx
Bacha log grow up .....
umm so they want to sell lingerie and body paints
whats so bad bout that?
Arent husband and wife allowed to enjoy themselves or is it haraam to wear Sexy Lingerie for one's spouse or use body paints
If they were opening a Brothel then It can be called Offensive but Its a Shop selling Stuff that in no way is either Haraam or Illegal
Broaden your minds and overcome all that Brainwashing
and please please tell me where in Islam is it not allowed to wear thongs, pushups, lace undergarments , and use body paints ?
Geez at one point you are having affairs with namahram log and on the other end shouting Islam Islam?
I dont get it !
i am sure there is a huge demand for "risque" out there so it happens that jews read it and they came up with a good idea.none of us knows what goes on there just by sitting out here.and this astaghfirulla whats up with that.stop being such hypocrits.sex sells, its every where so why make mecca an exception.
I am not sure if there is any truth to this post or not but if there is the saudi government will take appropriate steps to deal with the situation.they might not want this sex shop to be out in the open but maybe suggest to the jews to put up a deceiving front and run business behind the scences.i have lived in saudi and abu dhabi for that fact and i know guys are gonna love it cause the way the culture is they dont get their needs met.
anyway religious ding dongs u are welcome to comment.all i know is u are bunch of pimps parading around whats right and whats wrong like people dont know any better.
this is sort of a sarcastic so dont be offended,IF U DO GO TAKE A COLD SHOWER AND COOL OFF.
HAVE FUN PEOPLE
LATERZ
PEACE
The conservative nature of Islam is what differentiates it from any other religion among other things, of course. So to me, it makes no sense to use an argument of broadmindedness on this issue. Its not about being broadminded. Such shops are legal in the US, and still they are opposed by the majority. Why? Because its a moral issue. And its a privacy issue as well. Why do majority of the people chose to ignore and dislike such establishments even in the west?
Baykhatr...Im sure the moderator had a reason for deleting ur post, and whatever the reason was, Im sure it was a valid one..otherwise she doesnt have anything to gain by doing so.
Bacha log grow up .....
Of all the people in the world, I think "bacha log" would be the ones to 'understand' and accept a sex shop more than anyone. So its obvious there are no bachas around....or so I hope.
Husband and wife are allowed to do whatever they please, in the privacy of their bedrooms, that is. Islam doesnt disallow the use of any such material aids, but they are a private issue...not to be subjected to a public display. The moral fabric of Islam dictates that we exercise discretion in the way we handle our daily lives, and carry ourselves in a manner that we can share with other members of the society. If we cant share our bedroom lives with anyone else, we shouldnt share our bedroom habits with anyone either. I know its a matter of personal choice more than anything, but that personal choice cannot be incorporated in a place like Mecca. There are certain steps that will always be in force in order to maintain the sanctity of the city.
Akif:
Ok, I agree with you.
You did say that “Husband and wife are allowed to do whatever they please, in the privacy of their bedrooms, that is. Islam doesnt disallow the use of any such material aids..”. Now these things need to be available somewhere. So it has to be sold in a shop, discreetly ofcourse. I mean, you have to give credit to the fact that there are real people who actually live in Mecca, unlike us who visit the place a few times in our lifetime. So thats the end of the argument.
And ofcourse, we the Guppies
http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/bukbuk2.gif
, have already decided that the shop must be manned by muslims and not the jews. I am so glad, we can decide such things so amicably amongst ourselves. Now will some one call the Governor of Mekkah and inform him of this unanimous decision!

Adios!

Baykhatr, Perhaps your points were valid, perhaps your post was not directly offensive to anyone but the manner and style in which you presented it was both offensive and distasteful--and THAT is why it was deleted.
