Jewish-Canadian women storm Israeli consulate

Oh no…such anti-semitism! tsk tsk !

The world calls anti-israeli protests “anti-semetic” what I want to know is, when Israeli jews condemn and oppose Israeli policies, does that make it anti-semetic? Where are all those news broadcasters and radio hosts, and guppies on here, who take out the anti-semetic banner everytime someone speaks out against Israel. Where are the banners of anti-semetism here? In this scenario?

Are these women anti-semetic?

I dont think so.

January 7, 2009 - Toronto, ON

A group of 8 Jewish–Canadian women successfully occupied the Israeli
Consulate in Toronto today. They were arrested, held in a police wagon for
about an hour and then released with no charges. Despite some physical
violence on the part of the Israeli Consulate security staff, the
protesters left uninjured. At least 50 supporters rallied outside the
consulate in a show of solidarity. The action was in protest against the
on-going Israeli assault on the people of Gaza.

Most of the women had never been arrested before. “We felt so strongly
about protesting this terrible violence against the Palestinian people”
said Smadar Carmon, “that we decided to take extraordinary action. We hope
others, Jews and non-Jews will follow our lead and speak out against the
Israeli massacres, the on-going siege and in solidarity with the people of
Gaza.”

The group carried out this occupation in solidarity with the 1.5 million
people of Gaza and to ensure that Jewish voices against the massacre in
Gaza are being heard. They entered the consulate to demand that Israel end
its military assault and lift the 18-month siege on the Gaza Strip to
allow humanitarian aid into the territory. The occupation was peaceful,
but disrupted the work of the consul for the day.

Israel has been carrying out a full-scale military assault on the Gaza
Strip since December 27, 2008. At least 700 people have been killed and
over 3000 injured in the air strikes and ground invasion that began on
January 3, 2009. Yesterday, the Israeli army attacked a UN school, killing
at least 30 people, including several children. Israel has ignored
international calls for a ceasefire and is refusing to allow food, medical
supplies and other necessities of life into the Gaza Strip.

Protesters and their supporters are outraged at Israel’s latest assault on
the Palestinian people and by the Canadian government’s refusal to condemn
these massacres. They are deeply concerned that Canadians are hearing the
views of pro-Israel groups who are being represented as the only voice of
Jewish Canadians. The protesters occupied the consulate to send a clear
statement that many Jewish-Canadians do not support Israel and its
violence and apartheid policies. They join with people of conscience
across the world who are demanding an end to Israeli aggression and
justice for the Palestinian people.

Re: Jewish-Canadian women storm Israeli consulate

i take no comfort from this incident. we all know how evil israel is. this is no answer to israel.** israel needs fearless military opposition**.

the children of lucifer dont negotiate unless they are in a position of weakness. we should bare this in mind when talking about israel

salahuddin was able to spare some of the survivors of his enemies, that was a luxery. it by no means is the standard muslims should be trying to emulate

Re: Jewish-Canadian women storm Israeli consulate

are you suggesting killing all jews shardmanny? or israelis?

Israel is not a Jewish state. It is founded on an evil ideaology which is Zionism, that is not found in Judaism.

Re: Jewish-Canadian women storm Israeli consulate

nevertheless, it is not the Islamic way to want the wholesale killing of millions of people, including civilians/women/children.

it is understandable to be upset about this situation, but this kind of rhetoric is counterproductive.

not sure what shardmanny was saying, but i agree with you.

No, but it is definitely the Jewish and Talmudic way that sanctifies the killing of all civilians, whether they be women or children or unborn children in the womb.

So how are Muslims suppose to fight those who want their genocide?

**

told you ppl

1-israel is evil.
2-Canada is best country in the world!!

it is better to be a victim of injustice than a perpetrator of it.

those who believe in Allah and an afterlife are not motivated by revenge or a need to resort to immoral means to achieve justice, because justice is coming regardless. regardless of what the other does, you need to struggle against it with an islamically valid ethic.

And Hamas is exactly doing that with whatever means they have.

what i am suggesting is the basis for a new political policy and implentation of a new military doctrine. a doctrine which re-adresses the threat of israelli nukes to muslim lands.

muslim nations have no answer to israelli might. there exists a massive gulf in the preparedness of israel to harm the muslim world as compared to the muslim worlds preparedness, will and intent to seriously harm israel

this is the current basis for policy towards israel of most muslims. i think its not good enough. the suffering of people, near and far from israel, has been exascerbated tenfold by this policy

to tell you he truth i dont think this is the islamic way. islam leaves space for self defence.

an eye for an eye would be much better, dont you think?

Re: Jewish-Canadian women storm Israeli consulate

MONTREAL, January 8, 2009 – Approximately 30 people entered the lobby
of the Israeli consulate this morning to serve an eviction notice to
consular staff, demanding the expulsion of the Consular General and an
immediate end to the Israeli invasion and siege of Gaza.

“The Canadian government’s support for the ongoing atrocities in Gaza
is totally unacceptable. Canada should immediately end diplomatic ties
with the Israeli apartheid regime, starting with the expulsion of
Israeli representatives from Canada. Since the Canadian government has
refused to do so, we are taking action ourselves,” said Aaron Lakoff,
one of the participants.

Demonstrators arrived at the Consulate on the 6th floor of Westmount
Square in Montreal, condemning consular officials in English, French
and Hebrew for the massacres committed in Gaza. They blocked access to
the consulate for almost two hours before being physically expelled by
police. Journalists were denied access to the lobby, and two CTV and
Radio-Canada cameramen were shoved into an elevator by police.

During the action, demonstrators chanted slogans such as “Fight the
power, turn the tide, end Israeli apartheid!” calling for a boycott of
Israel, and addressed consular officials through the intercom.

“Since the Israeli assault began, over 700 Gazans have been killed and
nearly 3100 have been injured, with no place to escape the relentless
bombing of schools, homes, mosques, and places of refuge. The besieged
hospitals in Gaza are overwhelmed,” said Sophie Schoen, another organizer.

“This devastating level of violence has defined Israel since its
inception, and goes hand in hand with its apartheid system. We must
not forget that the vast majority of Gazans are refugees who were
ethnically cleansed from other parts of Palestine with the founding of
the state of Israel in 1948,” said Meg Leitold to participants.

“Israeli apartheid could not continue without moral and economic
support from Canada and Quebec,” she said, calling for a boycott of
Israel.

As police pushed them out, demonstrators left chanting “Boycottons
Israel, liberez Palestine!” Similar actions will take place until
Canada and Quebec cease their support for Israeli violence and apartheid.

Tadamon!

I agree & it does not help Palestinian cause either. The fact is Israel is a reality & Palestinian are the weaker party here & they have to be more accommodating in coexistence with the Jewish state.
