Jewish Afterlife

I was discussing religion this with my friend yesterday and he told me an interesting fact, Jews don’t believe in afterlife.
They believe the King (not jesus) will return at the end of time and a kingdom will be established on earth.

Can anyone explain on that?

Re: Jewish Afterlife

King Solomon?

Re: Jewish Afterlife

kingdom of heaven?

Re: Jewish Afterlife

Don't Jews believe they are the 'chosen ones' of all people?

Re: Jewish Afterlife

This king is what most Ahadith describe as the Dajjal, that is why they rejected Jesus(PBUH)

Re: Jewish Afterlife

That’s a movie you :badpc:

Re: Jewish Afterlife

99% of the stuff in this thread is Anti-Semitic nonsense. Shame on all of you. TOLERANCE is the need of the hour!

Re: Jewish Afterlife

What is anti-semetic here? King Solomon is repeatedly referred to in Jewish scriptures and they are the chosen people according to their beliefs. This thread is about learning, which is a huge part of tolerance stalker.

Re: Jewish Afterlife

i think its jehovah

Re: Jewish Afterlife

Not really (Dajjal), this king would be Essa AH (per our books) and for them someone else (I’m forgetting the name), but unfortunately they failed to recognize Hazrat Essa AH in first place.

Re: Jewish Afterlife

quit the sarcasm and start contributing.

Re: Jewish Afterlife

Captain1 Issa(as) will appear from the minerats of the mosque of Damascus as per our traditions he will not be a king of the jews.

Re: Jewish Afterlife

As per islamic traditions, it will be the jews who will flock to the dajjal (christians could come under jesus (isa) while jews don’t believe in him).

Re: Jewish Afterlife

Jews do believe in a world to come (Olam Ha-Ba) and Paradise (Gahn Ehydehn/Jannah) and Hell (Gehinnom/Jahannam).

The “king” you refer to is the Christ or Messiah (Moshiach/Maseeh) who they are still waiting for. Muslims and Christians believe that 'Eesa (Jesus) :as: was the real Christ or Messiah (Christians took it a step further and gave him a share in God’s divinity) but those who remained Jews didn’t accept him at all and think the real Messiah is still to come.

Muslims believe that the False-Messiah/Anti-Christ (Dajjaal al-Maseeh) will be from the Children of Israel and they will comprise most of his followers before the real Christ ( Jesus :as: ) descends from the heavens and finishes him off.

Makes sense since they’re still waiting for a Messiah and will probably accept the False-Messiah.

Re: Jewish Afterlife

I didn’t say that he will/won’t be king of Jews. What I meant to say that in both Islamic and Jewish traditions ‘someone’ will come to the rescue, fight the ‘anti-Christ’ and establish a kingdom. For us, that someone will be Hazrat Essa AH, for Jews I don’t remember the name of their expected messiah… their concept is similar to ours.

Re: Jewish Afterlife

okay my mistake
but anti-christ concept is only in Islam and christianity not judaism their king or messiah will fight only the Gog magog

Re: Jewish Afterlife

Jehovah is used to refer to Allah, God not a person.

Re: Jewish Afterlife

Now days, Reformist Jews do actually believe in afterlife like some people mentioned above but orthodox jews still believe in the idea of heaven or hell.

Re: Jewish Afterlife

Yes i researched on this subject throughly. The decendent from King David will come and fill the earth with justice. And all three big major religion islam, christian and judaism will come into one religion. My palestanian friend told me more that the decendent of kind david whom we jews are waiting for is actually anti-christ..according to islam. Secondly, we do not believe in after life as we are waiting for our king..he will bring be able to rise all the Jews who were dead...and establish peace on the earth.

Nicole.

Make the Abrahamic religions into one? Christianity and Islam in their present forms didn't even exist at the time when the Jewish scriptures were wrote so how can they predict this, or do they vaguely predict these religions and that they'll become one?

Do you mean your "Messiah" will convert the Muslims and Christians? I always heard from Jewish sources that it isn't neccesary for other nations to convert to and follow Judaism but that it is enough for them to abide by the 7 Noachide laws to have a share in the world to come, what exactly they mean by "a share" I don't know.
