Re: jewellery question

I live in the UK and have stuck to gold items that i know are gona go wiv my clothes. U dont really get to wear heavy jewellery everyday but small things like pendants, pretty earrings look nice. Go wiv some small things and a couple of medium things- ull b goin out to weddings, functions etc.

best thing to do is get a couple of things and when u come to the US look around and see what u like. U can always gt things made l8r :)

Re: jewellery question

Shahji’s website has tons of stuff…since you live in lahore..it may not be of much help..but the kundan sets/earrings they have…small-medium sized ones…are really practical..

Re: jewellery question

Re: jewellery question

thanks chanda_kh, where exactly can u wear such things to?

Re: jewellery question

np, well...i wear earrings to parties..night out etc....
and the single strand gold/kundan/gemstone/pearl necklaces are good for weddings and parties.....

also it gives you the measurements of pendants, earrings and necklaces...on the right side.

Re: jewellery question

that was very helpful thanks :)

Re: jewellery question

Re: jewellery question

the link chanda posted looks very useful.
small to medium earrings are wearable. an occassional bracelet or pendant might be worn as well.

Re: jewellery question

im in ireland and u dont usually get to wear much gold, however the ladies in my family wear some nice gold choorian, not lots jst a few(4-6), as they are simple in design, mayb a kara? bangles are so in fashion neway so im sure u can wear those, and yes defo get a nice pendent set that stands out in design along with earings to match. u'll only wear things on special occasions really..... :)

Re: jewellery question

thin bangles, a few karas, earrings are always good.... rings are nice too, just depends on how u wear it.i m sure a few daring ones will pair a raani-haar with their jeans/teeshirts. :D

Re: jewellery question

I live in US as well and it all depends on how social you/your future family is. Where I live there are tons of weddings so my jewelery has made good use. IMO, small and medium sets are much more useful than the huge ones. For one-its so hard making outfits that go with the big sets--which almost always look better on shaadi joras and saris than plain old shalwaar camiz.

Personally I feel as if big sets do not go with my frame so dont wear them. If I have the need to wear something antique or larger than my usual things- i just borrow from my MIL or mother:)

I too love pendants and earrings--they're quite versatile--worn mine with a sari, shalwar camiz and even an evening dress. Strands of pearls are always elegant.
