Jewelery experts

For those of you who know your stuff about jewelery and all…

I saw this set at Jackson Heights. It was about $250, the saleswoman said it was 2 kt gold I believe. Is this a reasonable price for an artificial set (came with tikka and earrings of course).

Also, how likely am I to find something exactly like this in Pakistan? Around how much would it cost if it were made of real gold, or artificial?

Thanks in advance

Re: Jewelery experts

That’s pretty sara. I’m guessing it wouldn’t be below 7-8 tollas unless you want a hawayi necklace :hmmm:

Re: Jewelery experts

im lucky the lady let me take a picture.... :D

whats a hawayi necklace? Ill be happy with artificial but not cheap-crap-looking-artificial.

Re: Jewelery experts

lol hawayi necklace as in weighs nothing. I know usually they are quite reluctant. Gold would cost you alot since the orices are sky high at the minute. It's was 34000 I think the last time I checked for one tolla. Artificial would probably not be above 50,000 rupees and it wouldn't even look artificial.

Re: Jewelery experts

So if that set is 8 Tolas, thats a little over $3200. is that just the gold, or the stones (kundan or polki?) too? Because if the whole set is that much...then its still a hundred times better than the prices here!

Err....50,000 Rs is like $600.....so i'd be better off getting it from here!

Re: Jewelery experts

I'm not too sure because the one I got made was 8 tollas but it was smaller. Don't take my word for as the necklace in the pic might be well above that :( 8 tollas might be sthg like £2100.

Re: Jewelery experts

thats really pretty

yeah 2100 gbp is roughly equivalent to 3200 USD

Sumo…yeah.wish i cud’ve taken a better pic of it..

Re: Jewelery experts

That is superrrrrrr pretty!

Re: Jewelery experts

anyone else with input? :halo:

Re: Jewelery experts

sara i dont know the price of such neclace in pakistani but 250 is a bit too much for this set...i really dont know how it looks in real... but 250$ main is say ziada zabardast set asakta hia.. but it totally depends on your choice...

Re: Jewelery experts

Have a look at the sets that Mysti is selling too. There are some which have a gold plating to them and are around 85 dollars or something and look expensive. 2k is virtually nothing and it seems expensive for what it is. It is really pretty, if you want it go for it.

Re: Jewelery experts

that is beutiful, now i find it really hard shopping in pakistan, unless u know someone who can take you around.

this is so pretty Sara....but a bit on the expensive side...

Check out precious collection on facebook....they have similar stuff in silver with gold plating....i think their prices are reasonable...

Re: Jewelery experts

That's so pretty!!!

Re: Jewelery experts

pretty but expensive for what it is. you can do better in plated or artificial jewellery.
if you were to have this made in real gold it would be very expensive as setting polki requires significantly more gold than other stones.....especially in this particular design.
it is highly unlikely that you could have this set replicated in real gold and gems for less than four or five thousand dollars.

Re: Jewelery experts

Its pretty but I agree it is a bit expensive. 2 kt is nothing to be honest so don't go for oh its gold that's why its expensive.

Re: Jewelery experts

$250 is a good price for this set. if your really have to buy something like this then go for it. cuz even in Pakistan its not easy to find something you like. and when the jewellers find out that you are really interested in something, they raise their prices.
