Oh I'm sure there will still be a movie...and maybe a reality TV gameshow called "Save Jessica Lynch".

How did those around them know their guns had blanks in them...and why would they even have blanks with them, doesn't add up.

Blanks make a different sounding bang.
Since there is no bullet head...there are no bullet holes.
The used bullet casings look different.
3a. The bullets themselves look different
i think the whole scene where Iraqis bring down the statue of saddam was a hoax itself.. i wouldnt be surprised if they were paid...

Still doesn't make sense about the blanks, your not going to walk into an Iraqi building with blanks, come on.
Deviliciousss, Iraq doesn't exist, it's all taking place on a stage out in Hollywood.

BTW did you see black hawk down? No credit given to bad Pakis for saving their ass in Mogadishu. I saw the interview of a GI Joe long before the movie was made he said while they were surrounded by 600 Sudanese and trying to find their way out they ran into a Pakistani company with few APC and tanks and thats how they managed to escape.

Well every one doesen't go in with blanks. The people with the blanks usually have the two magazines taped together (One with the blanks and the other with the real stuff) They go in with the dud bullet in the chamber. When they go into the civilian areas, these are the guys who are supposed to fire warning shots. There have been reports that the Americans knew that the Baathists had fled when they came to the hospital. If that is the case then it would be reasonable for some (not all) the soldiers to go in with blanks. One of the first reports about this operation didn't mention even a single bullet being fired. The soldiers just walked up to the doctor and asked about PFC Lynch. Make your own conclusions.

:) Yes pakistani s were mentioned, but ofcourse in a bad way.
A pakistani soldier told ( in BHD) the soldiers that there was no space in the jeeps, APC's and Tanks and so they had to 'run' all the way back to HQ. lame actions by the americans
But what can we expect from the American goverment

So true. Saddam never existed too. I wonder where Vietnam and Korea movies were made!? may be in Washington state.
This story seems like nonsense to me. Even the author of the article says it was not staged. Go figure!
The story is just based on the words of some Iraqi doctors. No proof.
HARRIS: Is it your belief right now based upon your investigation that this rescue of Lynch was in any way a staged event and not real?
KAMPFNER: No. First things first. Credit where it is due. The Americans had a legitimate right in getting Lynch out of the hospital in Nasiriya. They had no way of knowing what her fate was, whether she was being well or badly treated.
So, it is entirely legitimate for any country to want to get its own out as quickly and as safely as possible.
:flower1: Imdad meray chanda, did you read the article you posted? This is what the BBC reporter states in the interview that CNN conducted of him - as quoted in your article:
The same John Kampfner who is quoted in your article, also wrote this article (which i posted in this thread earlier), in which he entirely contradicts the Pentagon version.
…As opposed to the infallible, ever-trustworthy words of Pentagon officials whom, i presume, have no particular propaganda of their own that they would like to propagate?

Looked phoney to you?
The real hero in the Jessica Lynch case was the Iraqi man that saved her! My feeling anyway. Unless you think that was also staged?
Actually I thought at first it was because she was from Palestine, W.V.
Kind of like a sign, almost.
Yes, I read the article and his interview. It shows that this John Kampfner is totally contradicting himself. His only source for the article was the words of the Iraqi doctors who may have had an agenda or maybe they were confused when the event took place.
No, Pentagon is not infallible, but certainly better then some Iraqis who thought that the troops were using blanks! No one in there right minds would use blanks in an active combat environment, no matter how safe the mission maybe. Anyone can write a story, but the nytimes incident has showed, a story without proof, is just that: a story.
lolz. The only ones who have been “contradicting” themselves, have been the officials at the Pentagon - who issued a description of her “rescue” as though it came straight out of some Bruce Willis/Arnie Hollywood script. She wasn’t even treated badly by the Iraqi doctors - infact, she was even given medical treatment in a country where little kids die for lack of potable water
Jeez. This reeks of BS straight through, nothing less.
HARRIS: Is it your belief right now based upon your investigation that this rescue of Lynch was in any way a staged event and not real?
KAMPFNER: No.
Kampfner as quoted in the Guardian article: “Her rescue will go down as one of the most stunning pieces of news management yet conceived. It provides a remarkable insight into the real influence of Hollywood producers on the Pentagon’s media managers… …] It was perfect reality TV, made with the active cooperation of Donald Rumsfeld…”
Kampfner as quoted in the transcripts of a BBC programme, (War Spin): “This was a script made for Hollywood. Made by the Pentagon.”
the real point to ponder is how the administration would concoct lies and fabricate events to serve their purpose.. voters beware..

Well if completely staged?
The onus is on the people who would sacrafice a 19 year old girl for politics.
If staged?
My opinion would be that a "shoe" ' full of heels' took advantage of an innocent 19 year old girl and may have sacraficed innocent lifes for a political idea. Criminal in my thinking.
