The Dallas Cowboys king already has had tax payers foot 5h3 bill for his stadium while he keeps the profits. Now he is building Cowboy town with plush training facility and highly impressive features.
Is he doing this out of the goodness of his heart. He is getting tax payers to subsidize him on this effort also.
What about the helicopter ride he takes to get from Cowboy statism to Cowboy town. That must be subsidized by his fan army.
Re: Jerry Jones opulence at the expense of tax payers
“The project calls for $90 million in funding from the city and the school district. That money will go toward construction of the publicly-owned portions of the site: the multi-use event center, the two outdoor practice fields for the Cowboys and the two-level parking structure located underneath part of the development with about 1,500 spaces. The Dallas Cowboys are picking up the tab for the remaining costs of the city-owned facilities, which so far have totaled $78 million…The benefits to Frisco ISD go way beyond holding high school football games and other events in the indoor stadium, Superintendent Jeremy Lyon said.
“There’s been an increased interest in continuing to explore … opportunities for students,” he said. New ideas continue to come up as the project evolves and businesses join in”
“Every single one of those conversations continues to have a pretty solid component of talking about student opportunities for internships and for ways to get students involved in the programming that goes along with [it], whether it’s the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders operation or the broadcast media side of things,” Lyon said.
I remember when the Dallas Cowboys actually played and practiced in the actual County of Dallas :(. Now they play in Arlington and will operate of Frisco. No matter how fancy shmancy and gorgeous JerryWorld is, NOTHING can every replace the love I have in my heart for Texas Stadium and and my memories of being a season ticket holder. 2009 was a pivotal year when the push was being made to bring the Cowboys back to the City of Dallas proper. It would have been a dream come true to have the new stadium at Fair Park to revatalize the much neglected Southern sector of Dallas, but alas it didn’t happen. Jerry was asking for a Dallas to pass a 3% hotel tax hike to subsidize his dream…some blame the Mayor at the time Laura Miller (she hated Jerry lol) others say Jerry was never serious about staying in Dallas and would have gone to Arlington anyway even if Laura Miller had given him the time of day lol. Like it or not as a resident of the area with a birds eye view of all this, I can’t really complain as about 65% of my business in 2015 has been from home sales in Frisco and its immediate suburbs. They already have Dr Pepper Ballpark for the minor league baseball team Frisco Rough Riders, the Toyota Stadium for FC Dallas Soccer and now this. The people of Frisco have spoken and this is what they want. There is a lot of buzz and giddy anticipation for the opening next summer. Frisco is a sprawling concrete jungle with everything a pretentious nuveau rich soccer mom could want..which is why I will never live there lol and go out of my way not to shop or eat in Frisco…the excess and "keeping up with the Jones’ " vibe represents everything I despise most in this world lol.

You sound like a 49-ers fan with a California ( blue-state ) bend.
Re: Jerry Jones opulence at the expense of tax payers
People have to have their priorities straight. Tax payer money should not be used for such causes. The owners are going to make money. Let them take the risk.
And somehow Bernie Sanders is the socialist.
That school superintendent seems to be a Jones lackey. Of course some benefits will flown to the city. But to hand Jerry 60 plus million of funds so some money will flow back to school is ash backwards.

Reminds me of a story. A genie offered a guy a wish, with the condition that his neighbor would get double of whatever is granted to him. And the guy asks the genie to take away one of his eye.
