Nice thread. I would like to reserve my comments until after I view the particular video refered in this matter, but, for starters, to dip my views in on this statement:
That is very true. However, my understanding here is that having a group of desi specialist coaches alongwith relying on a foreign coach as a focal point and a hub stirs up heaps of pent-up emotions from all sides, and parties involved in such matters are not very keen on receiving help from the "outside sources", especially in a case of point where a foreign head coach is leading the team from the front (as he is supposed to) and we have his huge wave of ex-cricketers coming in from behind who want to be in the limelight, stay there for an indefinite period of time and take the torch away from that one person who has worked hard to win it in the first place, and who deserves it the most. At least that is how the thought process from the mind of an individual is geared when dumped in such situations, as mentioned above.
But yes, a general trend in cricket is more and more defining the logic of including specialist coaches of practically all sides of the fence, whether that be the batting department, bowling, fielding, media relations, and team manager e.t.c.
