Java Script?

to use any CD or DVD some time my PC asks this
Java script not supported or cant play this CD/DVD because of Java…
what should i do ?

Re: Java Script?

What kind of system are you using?

It requires a Media Player, such as Windows Media Player or WinAmp. If Windows Media Player doesn't work for you, try getting winamp.

Re: Java Script?

system is xp.......
i already have these media player and winamp but even then i can opent cd/dvd on pc

Re: Java Script?

There must be something in the CD that is giving you the problem then. Did you try the same CD on another computer?

Re: Java Script?

^ Must be the app. that autoruns once you insert the CD/DVD. Re-install Java VM.

Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. Open Display in Control Panel, and then lower your screen resolution and color quality settings. To view the DVD Troubleshooter, click More Information.

Re: Java Script?

this last one it is very difficult to understand i tried but still same

Re: Java Script?

From the looks of it, you dont have a software or hardware DVD decoder.

To play DVDs, you must have a DVD-ROM drive and a software or hardware DVD decoder installed on your computer. By default, Windows does not include a DVD decoder.

More details: DVD Playback in Windows XP

So you will either need 3rd party applications like PowerDvD, WinDvD, etc or you can download a software DVD decoder.

TO TEST if you have a DVD decoder installed properly, use the following utility:-

Download: Windows Media Player MPEG-2 and DVD Video Decoder Utility 162KB

If nothing is “CHECKED”, unlike the screenshot below, you will need to get hold of a software DVD Decoder to play your DVDs.

Just googled for some free dvd decoders, and this came out. i have not tried it myself though.

Re: Java Script?

if i havnt got dvd decoder in my pc then hw can i play other cd/dvds?

Re: Java Script?

The error message you previously posted is explicitly related to video codec problems. Have you run the utility i posted previously to check if the codec’s are correctly placed. CD and DVD are two different formats requiring different codecs.

Please don’t mind but you didn’t answer some of the questions, like bizz asked if the CD/DVD you have problems with worked on some other PC? and is this a intermittent problem or all of the DVD dont play.

BTW: You can also try to install K-Lite Codec Pack 2.71 Full, Standard and Basic (19MB), with this you should be able to play 99% of all the movies.

Re: Java Script?

1) yes i didnt try the DVD on other pc but i can see on my tv the same DVD
2) sme DVDs i cant play
