As Japan retires its 30?+ nuclear reactors, it plans to design its grid much like the Internet. An IP address will be assigned to each generator. They will all be autonomous and I think asynchronous ( as opposed to all generators being synchronized to the same frequency as is the case now). Seems intersecting.
