I’ve been on a Japanese-makeup/brush kick lately, especially right after I got those Hakuhodo brushes. There are plenty more high-end luxury brands like Suqqu (sold in the UK as well), Shu Uemura (having a 20% sale right now), Addiction and of course Chikuhodo. I have access to pretty much all except Chikuhodo which is only sold within Japan. But I really wanted this brush
Look at how gorgeous that shape and brush is! Do any of you guys have Japanese makeup favorites? And the ones living in the UK, do you see Suqqu a lot or it’s not a very popular brand there as of yet. I also hear the skin and waterproof mascaras are superb. Japan really has that sophistication to it, even on an international level…idk, I’m just really fascinated.

omG i never heard of anything else apart from hakuhodo..i think they all are mainly sold online..and damn they are expensiveee!!
Yes, Chikuhodo is mostly sold online but Addiction, Suqqu and Shu all have stores within Japan. And I replied to the PM! :)
I know a couple of people in Japan, but they are guys so I am not sure if they'd be willing to go on a make-up shopping trip for me... :(
lol, lucky! I wish I knew someone in Japan (I had a friend who was half-japanese and half-Pakistani but she moved to Toronto from Japan so she wasn't able to :()
and the only reason why Japanese are getting really good at producing those lovely make up is because there is a really high demand to look like you're white... with scary big eyes.
^lol? uh, no. Wanting to be light is spread all over Asia but I don't credit the quality of Japanese brushes and makeup to that. And I don't need it, I just want it. :)
And fingers crossed but I think that Chikuhodo Z-2 will finally be mine because I got someone in Osaka, Japan to pick it up for me. It's not 100% yet but OMG I AM SO EXCITED! :K337:
I do and the brushes well remember the brushes we talked about ages ago? Their main business is calligraphy thats why their brushes/wood is so nice.
Also make up is definitely not my forte (I actually find it tedious to do it myself) but if you want a Japanese site translated or want me to look up something I can do it.
Actually, I just transferred over money to her (the brush is HOLYCRAP expensive. It’s approx. $85 + EMS shipping = $101 ) so I think she will be able to get it for me. I’m just hoping there aren’t any issues at customs. Just one question though: is the brush made w/ grey squirrel or blue squirrel? For some reason, Safari doesn’t have a translator and Chrome does translate but some text is in picture and obviously would not translate so I wasn’t able to see that on the site. Thanks!
…lol! I know, but I had been saving for it for a while and it’ll be worth every penny to me. It’s expensive because of that exotic hair they use and of course everything is handmade w/ the hairs sorted and shaped by hand rather than cut by a machine.

And NO! I would never get a brush if I knew an animal was killed for it. These, along w/ the Hakuhodo brushes I recently got, are all cruelty-free. Phew!
