Isn't it some kind of ginger dressing that is put on Japanese salads? I bought some at my local grocery store, and it was delish!

You may want to check the ingredients. Some of the japanese dressings have mirin in them, which is alcoholic, and not halal.

Mirin is also in a lot of the Japanese dishes and sushi! If you are going out for sushi or Japanese food it is best to call ahead and ask them if they use mirin. Most of the restaurants DO USE IT, but a few do not. So be careful.
