Jane Austen is going to fly down to Delhi

The production of Emma- inspired movie Ayesha is been officially announced. The movie is being produced by Anil Kapoor and will star in-house-daughter-actress Sonam Kapoor as the female protagonist. The movie is about a damsel who is always on a match-making spree.
Unlike the original novel, however, we will not get to see Sonam Kapoor in heavy gowns and luxurious country settings. Instead, her character Aisha kapoor will be a prototype mall-shopping multiplex going city babe. The movie is styled as a romantic comedy.
A huge fan of Jane Austen’s novels like most girls, Sonam says she is very excited about this project. In fact, Jane Austen is going to fly down to Delhi soon to help the cast and crew with a close-to-perfect adaptation.

poor Jane Austen would rather jump of a cliff!!

:hehe:

?
Jane Austen?!

Nah. *Clueless *is a modernization of the same story. And it's great! Maybe this will be good too?

yeah, clueless was not bad but did u see "bride and prejudice", OMG its was a disaster, if Jane Austen was alive , she wud've sued the people behind that stupid movie!
Emma is my second favorite novel after P &P, i wonder what bollywood would do to it!

didn't jane Austen die long ago? or is there another jane austen

Re: Jane Austen is going to fly down to Delhi

I thought Jane Austin who has originally wrote EMMA died in 1817

Re: Jane Austen is going to fly down to Delhi

lol.. jane austen? she's alive??!!!

anything that has sonam kapoor in it will suck, regardless of whichever amazing novel it's adapted from. she cannot act to save her life, i wish they would get someone else to protect the izzat of austen's masterpiece.

I absolutely agree about B&P. It's too bad too because one of the reasons I love Austen is that many of the issues in her novels are still very real and present in desi society today. It feels very real and relavent to me -- perhaps more so than it does to the descendants of these people.

They really could have lifted the story and set it in India/Pak. Without all the ridiculous musical stuff. And without the East-West clash stuff. I think Mr. Coolie was the best character.

"No life without wife!"
