It was in Jang today, apparently the religious body has broken all ties with the jamiah hafza and Mufti Taqi Usmani debated with them in order to make them leave their current stance.

I did read it..
They can backpeddle and go on tangents all they want, they can point fingers at everyone else, but the fact of the matter is that they realized they were wrong, they want to safe face while doing it and not alienating the uber right wingers among their target market who still support laal masjid and others who have sympathies.
so after the dog and pony show is done, the conclusion still is, that they are not going to support lal masjid anymore.
It remaisn to be seen if they will keep their word or if the direction of he wind changes they change their statement using all the other justifications and excuses, disclaimers and conditions that is the filler material in their statement.

why would you conclude they admit they were wrong?The wafaq or the board told the lal masjid folks from the get go this would be a lone flight. As for lal masjid people they still dont admit they are wrong. I actually happened to post it here because i think the article presents the view of why and how rather than usual chitrol will save the day. Newho can see its a bit pointless for people who support them wont admit their mistake and people who are against them wont admit that their reasons were sound.
