The difference between the two is that the deobandi/wahabies are trying to impose their version by force.

Not “deobandis/wahabis”, rather our military/establishment wants this version so they hired militants.

JI was used by Zia in 1980’s to further his agenda and strengthen his grip militarily on the country.

The problem is that JI is no longer under the control of the Army but has turned into a Frankenstein monster which the Army cannot control.

Its leadership needs to be decapitated.

Zia created MQM to cut off JI’s strength. JI was hired only to recruit foot-soldiers. JI can still be taken apart (esp for recruitment purposes), its upto ISI/establishment to decide. First our military/establishment needs to decide whether we need to support Taliban of Afghanistan or not, once that is decided then they can pull out knives for JI/TTP etc. And BTW, JUI and other organizations also need to be checked not just JI.
