Rallies condemn Israeli aggression on Gaza, Lebanon
**Lahore, August 4: **

On the appeal of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal Pakistan president Qazi Hussain Ahmad countrywide protest day was observed to express solidarity with the unwavering Lebanese and Palestinian brethren who are braving the US sponsored war brutalities of Israel and apathy of Muslim rulers.

Reports pouring in the JI media office from across the country speaks of big protest demonstrations outside mosques and public spots which were addressed by MMA local leaders.

The speakers condemned Israeli war on Lebanon and Gaza. They lauded steadfastness of innocent Palestinians and Lebanese against the unabated Israeli war. They also condemned the inefficacy of the OIC and condemned the rulers attending Putrajaya meeting which begged peace from Israel.

In this connection a big protest demonstration was held outside JI headquarters Mansoorah after Friday prayer. Peaceful protesters chanted slogans against US and Israel and the government of Pervez Musharraf which is hinting at sending Pakistani troops in the UN international force for Lebanon to protect Israel.

They were holding banners and placards inscribed with anti-Israel and American slogans.

The demonstration was organized by Jamiat Talaba Arabia was largely attended by people from various walks of life. Secretary General Lahore chapter of Jamaat-e-Islami Amirul Azim, JIP Director Foreign Affairs Abdul Ghaffar Aziz, JTA head Hafiz Sajid Anwar, President UK Islamic Mission Maulana Mohammad Shafiq and JTA Punjab leader Hafiz Mohammad Bilal addressed on the occasion.

Addressing the protestors JI leader Amirul Azim regretted that Muslims had pinned hopes on the OIC meeting that leaders will come up with strong reaction and practical steps to stop the Israeli attacks on Lebanon and Gaza. He said a stereotype resolution begging Israel to stop war was a shame for rulers who own pile of arsenals and barracks full of army and failing to adopt any practical means to stop the Israeli aggression on Lebanon. He was satisfied over the unity of Muslim people because enemy was trying hard to divide them on sectarian basis.

Speaking on this occasion Abdul Ghaffar Aziz said Israel is claiming the massive destruction caused as hers victory to deceive its subjects who are cursing the Zionist regime in their bomb shelters since last month. He said coward enemy can not defeat the brave Hizbullah and Hamas. He said this grand protest rally rejects the policies of Musharraf regime and strongly condemn the efforts through which Islamabad is trying to appease US by offering to send its troops in the UN international force to protect Israel. He demanded the people to go for social boycott of the soldiers joining this force.

It was a pleasant feeling to see my muslim brothers from other sect (shias of Tahreek-e-Islami) holding our (sunnis of Jamat-e-Islmai) hands and saying:

Shia Sunni bhai bhai
Amreeka nay aag lagai

It was a wonderful feeling literally hard to explain. It now ponders me to think about events all over the world showing the same sense of unity among Muslims:

**Egypt’s mufti defends Hizbollah operations **

CAIRO (Reuters) - The Mufti of Egypt, the country’s senior exponent of Islamic law, said the Lebanese guerrilla group Hizbollah was defending Lebanon against Israeli injustice.

“The attacks, killing and destruction that are taking place in Lebanon now by Israeli forces are injustice itself,” Mufti Ali Gomaa told a meeting in southern Egypt. He was quoted by the state news agency MENA on Friday.

“This gives the Lebanese the right to defend themselves. Hizbollah is defending its country and what it is doing is not terrorism,” said Gomaa, a government appointee.

On Thursday Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, one of the largest Islamist political movements in the Arab world, rejected fatwas or religious rulings by Saudi clerics against Sunnis supporting Hizbollah, which is Shi’ite Muslim.

I guess we are finally understanding the true meaning of Islam and pleasing the Prophet (s.w) and truly acting on his sunnah.

We need to get out of this limited mentality shell of shia-sunni and start thinking in a broader perspective.

I think its time for us (ahle sunnah wal jamaat) to prove to our shia brothers that we are not only claiming to be their brothers in Islam but we will actually sacrifice our lives for them!!!

As well said by the Muslim Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrullah addressing sunni muslim arabs living in Haifa and asking them to leave today:

“Your (sunni muslim) blood is our (shia muslim) blood”!

err yeah blame it on america, as if the anomosity between shia and sunni has only been around since 1776.

There is enough anomosity and bad blood thorugh the ages that yes if someone wants to tae advantage of it they can, but then the fact that the groups are ripe to be manipulated into killing each other only shows the failure on part of the leaders of these groups throug the ages to talk sense and to talk sense to their followers.

although I believe that there is enough miscommuncation, myths and all that are propogated by mullahs of each group that there is hatred in soem quarters of the population.

why we always need outside force to bring all the muslims(sunni,shia...)togather?
why cant v b like this all the time?
And what do we do when we are togather?
call for Strikes,skirmishes with authorities,arrests,every1 trying to sell the pheeka pakwan of their unchi dukan,.... list goes on and on....
we should be thankfull to USA,Israel,UK and all other countries for giving us a chance to be united even for a weekend (in pakistan mostly strikes and protests are over the weekend).

Unfortunately, that is excatly true Br. Farudia.

Now is the time to talk sense and remove differences. It is in our own interest and according to the true sunnah of Prophet (s.w).

Thats one of the top priorities of our (ahle sunnah wal jamaat) scholars of Jama Al Azhar these days and they are closely working with the shia scholars on it.

It will take some time but the root cause is to remove hatred from the hearts. It should not be only saying it through words.
